Current balance system using MCU (micro controller unit) which controls the individual lamp current is implemented in this paper. The system consists of a ballast capacitor for parallel lighting, an amplitude modulator switching between the on-state and the off-state for regulating the lamp current, a gate driver to shift a voltage level, and a current sensor to send a feedback signal to the MCU....
We present a display-driver IC embedding a capacitive-touch-screen controller. It is designed to operate with conventional overlay-type and on-cell touch display panels. The IC exhibits performance of 40 ms latency and 120 Hz update rate within ??0.5 mm jitter. It has been evaluated on a 16.7 M-color wQVGA AMOLED panel with on-cell touch screen.
In this paper, a bulk micromachined lateral axis TFG (tuning fork gyroscope) with torsional sensing comb capacitors is presented. Both driving and sensing modes of the gyroscope are dominated by slide film air damping, then it can work even at atmosphere. Novel driving comb capacitors are used to electrically decouple the mechanical coupling from sensing mode to driving mode. The process for this...
For lighting application, high-power LED nowadays is driven at 350 mA and a sensing resistor is used to provide feedback for LED-current regulation. This method adds an IR drop at the output branch, and limits power efficiency as LED-current is large and keeps increasing. In this paper, a power-efficient LED-current sensing circuit is proposed. The circuit does not use any sensing resistor but extracts...
Since the very beginning of the flash memory era, the market has been dominated by the floating gate technology. However, as floating gate flash continues along a very steep scaling path, more and more barriers start to appear, limiting further scaling possibilities of the technology. At the same time, other concepts are preparing to take over. This paper concentrates on the prospect of high-k materials...
For modern display systems, thorough testing of the TFT array is a critical element in yield management. However, for system-on-panel displays which integrate drivers, timing units, and controllers on the same substrate (usually glass) as the TFT array, access to the array data and scan lines is complicated. To reduce the tester complexity, we propose a low area overhead and offset compensated charge...
In this paper a novel algorithm for detecting voltages of capacitors of cascade shunt active power filter (CSAPF) is presented based on Carrier Phase Shift-SPWM (CPS-SPWM). This work is motivated by the fact that the number of voltage sensors is largely increased by CSAPF with cascade topology which has been put into practical use for years especially in high voltage and high power drivers. Following...
