Actual MOS transistors models only use empirical models for the variation of the drain current in saturation. This is due to the bidimensional character of the MOS transistor channel. Gradual approximation can no longer be used for the whole transistor analysis due to the channel length modulation. But the gradual approximation still stands for the effective channel length of the transistor. And this...
By solving the Landau-Lifschitz-Gilbert equation in the macrospin approach we have analysed the free-layer magnetization dynamics of a perpendicular polarizer — planar SAF free layer spin-torque oscillator at 0K temperature. The current-field state diagram obtained exhibits three different behaviors: a stable in-plane alignment of the two SAF's layers magnetizations for low current densities (J);...
A simple technology of 4H-SiC Schottky diode with oxide ramp termination is presented. The ramp is controlled by two undoped layers: an annealed (compact) oxide layer and as deposited layer, respectively.
A comparative study of computation models for predicting the vibration modes of some MEMS structures of cantilever type — as suspension arms of the inertial mass of a bulk-micromachined silicon accelerometer, reported to the experimentally measured values of resonance (natural) frequencies, is presented in this paper. The most appropriate values of silicon Young's modulus depending on the crystal...
Autonomous weather monitoring applications, especially the distributed ones, implies low power consumption both for sensors and computing/storage facilities. Making the autonomous system more efficient requires optimizing consumption for the computing and storage facilities are they require more energy to function than the sensors. Modern embedded systems are a solution, as they have to continuously...
The non-ideal behaviour of a classical comparator-based first-order relaxation oscillator is analysed. The influences of the comparator slew-rate and output resistance as well as the parasitic resistances of the reactive element are considered. Numerical simulations at system level and transistor level are given.
We present the results of a structural and compositional investigation of Al-doped thin films obtained by sol-gel deposition on Si/SiO2 substrates. Taking into consideration the layer by layer deposition process and that the films contain 1–10 successive layers, the evolution of structure and elemental composition, especially Al concentration in the films were investigated by energy dispersive X-ray...
Titanium alloys are extensively used in a variety of applications due to their good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Recently, β-type Ti alloys composed of non-toxic elements have received much attention, because they feature not only high specific strength, bio-corrosion resistance, no allergic problems and biocompatibility. A Ti-25Ta-25Nb β-type titanium alloy was subjected to Severe...
Thermostable polyimides based on perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride and aromatic diamines containing oxadiazole rings were prepared and thin films were made therefrom. Dark-red, opaque coatings resulted having strong adhesion to the glass support. The composition of these polyimide films was analysed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The dynamo-mechanical and dielectric behaviour of the...
Some p-type and n-type ZITO transparent and conductive films of 300 nm thickness, have been deposited by vacuum thermal evaporation and oxidation in air on different substrates. The electrical and optical properties of the thin films have been studied as a function of chemical composition, substrate nature and annealing conditions. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used in order...
This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of a composite polysulfone-polyaniline membrane for electrochemical applications. The polysulfone membrane was obtained by the phase inversion process and polyaniline, obtained from the polymerization of p-phenylenediamine in the presence of hydroquinone, was filtered through this membrane. The material was characterized by thermal analysis, Scanning...
Dielectric and conduction properties of polyimides were evaluated on the basis of dielectric constant, dielectric loss, electric modulus and AC conductivity, and their variation with frequency and temperature. Polyimide films exhibited good insulating properties with dielectric constants values in the range of 2.78–3.48 and dielectric loss comprised between 0.01 and 0.03 at 1Hz at room temperature.
This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of a new material: an iron/titanium dioxide composite (obtained by a novel method from colloidal iron and titanium tetrabutoxide) with a dye (Congo red) adsorbed onto the composites surface. The new synthesized materials were structurally characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy and Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.
A rapid photothermal processing (RPP) technique has been developed to functionalize a new generation of nanostructured zinc oxide film materials. An environment-friendly chemical process was used to obtain nanostructures. The post-growth RPP at 650°C in N2 atmosphere of the nanostructured zinc oxide films leads to the suppression of deep-defect-level emission, improvement of near-band edge emission...
In present days in-depth behaviour characterization of multifunctional deposited films for MEMS/BIO-MEMS applications, showed the need of adequate properties, in order to assure the demanded designed functions for envisaged applications, such as: physical, chemical, mechanical, tribological and biocompatible. The development of new materials for films deposition with high potential to be used in BIO-MEMS...
Electrical conductivity and the Hall-effect are investigated in the temperature interval (80–400) K on thermally annealed in H2 CdS thin films obtained by chemical bath deposition. Different characters of the temperature dependence of conductibility are observed in the CdS films annealed at different temperatures. The Hall measurements allow calculating the values of the NA, ND, nex and ED. According...
This paper focuses on physical properties of ZnSe thin films and photovoltaic parameters of ZnSe/CdTe thin film solar cells. X-ray analysis and SEM images show that ZnSe films are polycrystalline and exhibit wurtzite-zinc-blende structure. ZnSe/CdTe solar cells show an efficiency of about 4.7%. The external quantum efficiency (EQE) for these cells shows that the shape of these characteristics depends...
The present circuit uses a simple oscillator structure as a base point for a continuous time chaos generator. The strange attractor and chaotic behavior was demonstrated by several implementations of the circuit: mathematical model (calculated using specialized software), SPICE simulation and hardware implementation.
