A new methodology and custom software tool is presented in this paper, which supports partial automation of designing and prototyping of electronic systems. The emphasis is put on component selection stage, which is realized in a substantially different way comparing to widely used parematric search engines. In presented approach besides of individual (component-level) parameters, also system-level...
Last decades in reliability prototyping of microelectronic devices show that from a long time there is no good solution to examine it in relatively short time and small expenditure of costs. Currently all thermo-mechanical reliability processes are long-lasting and costly. With using only the most dominating failure mode and cyclic loadings tests can last for a number of months. Companies, which produce...
Avionics is very demanding and specific field of research according to sensor and system design. In systems designed for such applications not only reliability in very low temperatures is key aspect, but also system geometry, energy usage and its weight. During preliminary tests of different rotor blades designs some special measurement of a gas (air) flow type around blades is crucial.
Accurate cost estimation is integral to Lockheed Martin's Mission Systems and Sensors proposal generation process. Overestimation can result in a loss of a contract and underestimation can result in a loss of profits. The authors set out to examine and improve this imprecise and unique process. The team conducted both quantitative and qualitative analysis to produce a set of recommendations suggesting...
There are many optimization algorithms, which can be used to find the extremum of a function. However, in optimizing the function, which is obtained from the numerical calculations, it is necessary to apply the proper global optimization algorithm. It is caused by the high nonlinearity of the numerical function's response. The nonlinear function with not known analytical form may have many local extrema...
In modern electronics one of the most important target is to make reliability tests shorter and more effective. To solve that problem, the novel fast data acquisition system was developed. It uses fast FPGA modules, a microcontroller for fast-response feedback and FPGA control as well as transmission of the data to PC over Ethernet protocol. Single test lasts for many days and produces large amount...
The paper deals with the problem of speed and position estimation in SRM drive equipped with hysteresis band current controller. Instead of measured current the observer utilize reference current. The voltage is calculated from switching on-time. A speed observer structure which uses estimated back EMF and current of each phase is presented. The shaft position is integrated from estimated speed signal.
The paper deals with the problem of sensorless control of SRM drives. A speed control system using back EMF and position estimator is presented. The shaft position is estimated using a "global" current error. That observer robustness on motor parameter accuracy estimation is verified by simulation results.
