In this work, we studied the structural changes of bovine serum albumin (BSA) that occur due to its denaturation caused by the thermal heating of the protein dispersion. The characteristic Raman spectroscopy peaks indicate the BSA conformation. Specifically, 1578 cm−1 corresponds to the native conformation, and 1608 cm−1 and 1660 cm−1 correspond to the denatured state.
Methyl ethyl ketone dissolved in transformer oil can be used as the mark of thermal insulation degradation. As an effective detecting method for trace liquid, Laser Raman Spectroscopy (LRS) is more suitable for in-situ detecting methyl ethyl ketone concentration than traditional detection methods. The application of LRS in detecting methyl ethyl ketone concentration has been studied. Firstly, the...
Acetic acid produced in oil-paper insulation aging process would greatly reduce the quality of insulation performance of a transformer, and seriously affect the healthy operation of the transformer. The monitoring of acetic acid content dissolved in the transformer oil is of great significance for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the transformer. Laser Raman spectroscopy is a molecular...
This work is dedicated to the analysis of plasma proteins concentration using Raman spectroscopy setup. The obtained Raman spectra showed significant variation of intensities of certain spectral bands 940, 1005, 1330, 1450 and 1650 cm−1 for different protein fractions and concentrations. Partial least squares regression analysis was used for determination of correlation coefficients. We have shown...
Xylitol is an important substitute of sugar, it was widely used in medicine, chemical and food manufacture. In this work, xylitol geometry structure was optimized by density functional theory (DFT) method. Raman spectra was calculated based on Hartree-Fock (HF)/6–31G sets and DFT/6–31G sets, good agreements were obtained between the two theoretical and experimental results. Vibrational modes were...
With the increasing number of studies using nonlinear microscopy in the biosciences, an awareness for the potentials of nonlinear optics has begun to emerge among a broader audience. Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy is one of the most technically challenging methods in this category, forming images of molecular distributions based on their vibrations by a multiphoton interaction...
In this paper, 66 samples from the human oral mucosa tissue were measured by confocal Raman microspectroscopy. A preprocessed algorithm based on wavelet analysis was used to reduce noise and eliminate background of Raman spectra firstly. Then the integrated areas of four normalised wavenumber regions 1004, 1156, 1360 1587 and 1660 cm-1 were carried out for discrimination of the normal and malignant...
66 samples from the human oral mucosa tissue, including 43 normal and 23 malignant tissue samples were measured by confocal Raman microspectroscopy. The low signal-to-background ratio spectra from human oral mucosa tissues were obtained by this technique without any sample preparation. A preprocessed algorithm based on wavelet analysis was used to reduce noise and eliminate background of Raman spectra...
