All kinds of printing method include merits and demerits each. Therefore, cautions are required for adapting printing technique in the manufacturing process of electronics products. The various printing methods used in the electronics field are introduced in this talk. And, the printing technique for the OLED lighting which is studied in INOEL is explained.
Flexible substrates and non-ITO transparent electrodes are key technologies for next generation organic electronics. In “Yamagata University Organic Thin Film Device Consortium”, in which 21 companies participate, flexible substrates and non-ITO transparent electrodes for organic electronics are being developed. This paper reviews the developed technologies and the prototype OLED devices.
A new precise printing method for device fabrication was developed. It is called ‘nano-Rheology Printing’, because it is using rheological nature of oxide-gels and can be adapted to nano-sized patterning. Two types of oxide TFTs having a channel length of 0.5μm were successfully fabricated and their good properties were demonstrated. Now this technology is being applied for an AM-FPD application.
We report the fabrication of a mechanically-flexible 16×16 array of thin-film, micron-size LEDs emitting at 480 nm. Devices were transfer-printed onto a mechanically-flexible ITO backplane using a modified, high-precision (placement accuracy ±25 nm) assembly system.
Light emitting diodes (LEDs) have been dominating over years in the realm of incandescent and fluorescent lighting due to their long life, intensity and power efficiency. But having certain limitations like difficulty and cost of production, they have been being restrained from conspicuous application. Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) nowadays is a promising feature over Liquid Crystal Display...
This paper reports the successful electrohydrodynamic (EHD) printing of about 2- to 20-μm width of metal line patterns, with the line thickness over 30 nm on a glass substrate and coated silicon nitride surface for the repair of TFT pixel. With fine metal line patterning based on EHD printing related to optimize the parameters (e.g., the distance between the substrate and the nozzle, the speed of...
In this study, the characteristic and fabrication of a photoelectrochromic (PEC) cell were researched. In order to investigate the optimal coloration of PEC cell, fabricating titanium dioxide (TiO2) colloid with different parameters on photoelectrode in PEC cell is necessary. Two electrodes both were fabricated on flexible substrates by screen printing technique. Further, tungsten trioxide (WO3) was...
The inkjet printing technique is a promising alternative deposition technique due to its effectiveness in material use and large area coverage. However, the printed film morphology critically depends on the droplets characteristics. This paper reports the optimizing of several key printing parameters, such as pulse voltages, drop spacing and waveform setting for obtaining the high quality droplets...
This paper reviews methods for creating solar cell grid contacts and explores how cell efficiency can be increased using CAB-DWTM. Specifically, the efficiency of p-i-n structure solar cells built in-house with 90 μm sputtered lines and 5 μm CAB-DWTM lines were compared. Preliminary results of the comparison show a marked improvement in solar cell efficiency using CAB-DWTM. In addition, a theoretical...
