In this report, an OTA which is used in fully differential pipelined ADC was described. Using gain-boost architecture with current-mode single-ended amplifier, this OTA reduce parasitic taking by gain-boost amplifier to achieve high-gain and high-speed. Besides, a dual phase SC-CMFB circuit is introduced, and some methods are concerned to improve the performance. Then, by optimization the layout design,...
One of the fashionable stress test that has been practiced in CMOS VLSI recently is known as IDDQ scan test. It has competency to be exercised as a part of failure analysis method in localization latent defect with nano scale geometry, i.e. gate oxide hole. An extension study in this field delivers proficiency on logic circuit diagnostic. Form the results obtained during the experiment, it shows that...
This paper presents the effects of gate oxide scaling and drain bias variation on the Negative Bias Temperature Instabilities (NBTI) of a 45nm PMOSFET. The gate oxide thickness parameter is varied in this work at values of 1.8nm, 2nm and 3nm. The drain bias of the PMOS is also varied, at values 50mV and 1.2V, in order to observe its effect on the NBTI of the PMOS. The effects on the fundamental device...
This paper presents the effects of process variation on the Negative Bias Temperature Instabilities (NBTI) of a 90 nm PMOSFET. The process parameters which are varied in this work are the stress temperature and the hydrogen diffusivity. The effects on the fundamental device parameters namely the interface trap concentration, threshold voltage and the drain current had been studied utilizing the technology...
The band energy of graphene nanoribbon is parabolic when reaching the minimum band energy. Otherwise, it is nonparabolic. In the parabolic band structure, Fermi-Dirac integrals are employed to study the carrier statistic whereas for nonparabolic part, numerical solutions are needed. Numerical method shows Fermi energy with respect to the band edge is a function of temperature that independent of the...
This paper addresses the effect of substrate temperature and deposition pressure on the electrical properties of Direct Current (DC) plasma magnetron sputter-deposited Tungsten Silicide (WSi) films on silicon substrates. Results from experiments show that, substrate temperature and deposition pressure has exerted significant influence on the electrical properties of the WSi films. The electrical properties...
This paper reported the study of growth of AlxGa1-xN thin film on a-plane sapphire substrate using plasma assisted metal organic chemical vapor deposition (PA-MOCVD). We have successfully growth the Al content AlGaN alloys and investigated the influence of TMA/TMAl+TMGa flow rate ratio to their crystal structure and surface morphology. From S EM image and XRD measurement, the AlGaN films grown with...
In this paper, we present a simple, rapid, and low-cost procedure for fabricating micro-nozzles and micro-diffusers using in microfluidic devices to control the flow of the fluid which pass through the microchannels. This procedure uses commercially accessible and typical materials, which is used in several applications in microelectronic labs. Glass is used as main substrate to get advantages of...
The design of a low power voltage multiplier for passive UHF RFID transponder which compatible with CMOS process and can be applied to the surroundings in where the distance from the reader changes greatly is presented in this paper. The functioning principle of N-stage voltage multiplier is introduced in this paper. With the intention of maximizing the operating range of RFID tag, low power design...
In this paper, we present a design and simulation results of MEMS gyroscope using drive and sense electrode's voltage control to tune wide range resonance frequency that may yield robust vibratory MEMS gyroscope and at the same time retains the wide range of bandwidth. The design is of symmetrical shape for the proofmass and the branch-finger actuators. Branchfinger actuators in both drive and sense's...
In this paper, we proposed Inverted-F Antenna concept. We design a novel antenna that resonates at two different frequencies. Using only a single layer and single feed, the antenna operates at lower frequency of 1.4 GHz and at higher frequency of 3.2 GHz. The results obtained were acceptable in terms of return loss (RL), bandwidth, radiation pattern and gain. IFAs are suitable for wireless communication...
This work presents a design methodology of the MEMS piezoelectric microgenerator based on optimizing the voltage and power. A pulse input force is applied on the z-axis, and the generated average voltage and power are recorded. Next, voltage and power optimization are carried out by varying the device parameters and selecting the optimized parameters. The Optimization results indicate that optimum...
The response of Pt-circular Schottky diodes fabricated on undoped AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility-transistor (HEMT) structure to hydrogen gas at various temperatures, ranging from 25°C to 200°C has been investigated. A 5 nm-thick of catalytic Pt Shottky contact is formed by electron beam evaporation. Both forward and reverse currents of the device increase upon exposing to hydrogen gas. Although...
This paper reports on synthesis and characterizations of Sn doped ZnO nanowires. Sn doped ZnO nanowires was successfully been grown using carbothermal reduction method. Morphological and structures were characterized using FESEM, revealed that nanowires grown on random direction with diameter around 30 - 60 nm. EDX analysis was used to confirm composition element, Sn element was found in the nanowires...
Integer addition is one of the most important operations in digital computers digital signal processing and. In fact the speed of adders affects the speed and performance of their processors. In digital signal processing, multiply and accumulate (MAC) unit plays an important role when designing digital filters. However, this role is doubled when multiplierless techniques such as distributed arithmetic...
The use of implanted devices for biomedical applications is on the rise. As reliability and longevity of the power source is an issue of concern so research is underway for using other means of energy sources such as solar, vibrations and inductive coupling, The inductive coupling providing a non-invasive means of energy source, and is hence considered the most reliable contender. In this case the...
This research studied the characteristic of electrical properties of E. sanguinea by evaluation of complex impedance and complex permittivity. Apply Cole-Cole plot technique to explain the behavior of RC impedance form simulation and measurement. The objective of this study was to build up a new electrical equivalent circuit model from RC circuit model of E. sanguinea with MLEMF. The results revealed...
A fully monolithic 5 GHz CMOS LC-VCO, designed in a 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS technology, is presented in this paper. The tuning range of the VCO is from 4.1 GHz to 5.24 GHz, about 24%. The measured phase noise at 5-GHz is -115.8 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from the carrier. It meets the requirements for IEEE 802.11a WLAN standard. The current dissipation of the VCO is 2 mA from the 1.8 V power supply.
