A new front end readout circuit for non-invasive, cuff-less, convenient blood pressure sensor is proposed in this study. The blood pressure sensor features continuous detection, low power and low cost. The sensor is able to detect pulse signals of the artery vibration under the skin of a human wrist. The front end circuit consists of a sensing circuit, an amplification, a peak-sensing circuit and...
Wafer sized, high quality continuous films would be a key demand for MoS2 implemented in circuit application. In this study, the growth of few monolayer MoS2 on 4 inches SiO2/Si substrate were demonstrated. The MoS2 thin films were synthesized by sulfurized in a furnace from the ultra-thin MoO3 starting materials by using H2S. The obtained MoS2 thin film examined by Raman analysis and Photoluminescence...
IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) has become one of the most popular networking environments. With high density WLANs, it causes the interference among access points (APs) and degrades the performance of APs, especially in public area. To solve this problem, we design and implement a Cluster-based Channel Assignment (CCA), a combination of RSS-Aware Channel Selection Module (RCSM) and...
A new cuffless, wireless optical blood pressure (BP) sensor is successfully developed by this study. This device employs the technique of photoplethysmograph (PPG) to read out in real time the intravascular blood volume change and then to calculate BP. The system utilizes a red-light LED with a wavelengths of 660 nm. The readout circuit includes a pre-amplifier, a band-pass filter, a programmable...
Scalable synthesis of thin tungsten diselenide (WSe2) films on 4-inch silicon substrate with 80 nm silicon dioxide (SiO2) is demonstrated. Cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals good control of WSe2 layers. Raman spectroscopy confirms high quality crystal of WSe2 is achieved. Back-gated field-effect transistors (FETs) fabricated on these thin films exhibit p-channel characteristics...
The effect of resistance (Rc) reduction of Ti/Au contact on MoS2 by ICP Ar plasma pretreatment is presented. The lowest Rc of 1.72 ohm-cm was achieved with the ICP treatment condition of 50W (ICP) /2W (chuck) for 10 sec. Compared with the contact without treatment (19.6 ohm-cm), the Rc improves over 10 times, demonstrating the advantage of Ar plasma pre-treatment on MoS2 contact.
We consider the 1-dimensional compaction problem when the layout area contains forbidden regions and the layout components are allowed to move across these regions. Assume we are given a feasible layout containing k forbidden regions and n layout components, where the i-th layout component is a rectilinear polygon consisting of vi vertical edges, v=∑i...
In this paper, the problems of computing the Euclidean shortest path between two points on the surface of a convex polyhedron and finding all shortest path edge sequences are considered. We propose an O(n6logn) algorithm to find All Shortest Path Edge Sequences, construct n Edge Sequence Trees, and draw out n(n−1)/2 Visibility Relation Diagrams for a given convex polyhedron. According to...
Two inches size with high quality layered growth of MoS2 was achieved by PLD on c-plane sapphire substrate. 2∼3 monolayer MoS2 was obtained within 2 inches wafer estimated from Raman analysis and confirmed by cross-sectional view of TEM. Additionally, the oxide states of Mo 3d core level spectra of MoS2, analyzed by XPS, can be effectively reduced by adopting a post sulfurization process in H2S. The...
A highly efficient LED is demonstrated by incorporating the colloidal quantum dots and sodium chloride. Further lifetest shows great stability up to 104 hours under 194 mW/cm2 of UV pump power.
A new non-invasive, cuff-less, low-cost blood pressure (BP) sensor capable of continuous detection is optimized by this study for maximum performance. This blood pressure sensor module encapsulates specially-designed electrodes as a strain sensor to be attached to a flexible plate. In operations, the strain sensor is held stable with top surface contacting tightly with the human skin while the bottom...
A non-invasive, cuff-less, capable of continuous detection and low cost blood pressure sensor is proposed in this study. The proposed blood pressure sensor has a specially-designed strain sensor attached to a flexible plate and encapsulated by a gel module. The sensor is able to detect pulse signals of the artery vibration under the skin of a human wrist by a simple, flexible attachment pad. The strain...
Electrocardiogram (ECG) as biological information, it has some special feature. Different people will have different ECG information; even one person has different ECG when he is under different body state. In this paper we use the ECG to identify disease or to detect different person. Firstly, we collect the ECG information from different body state of the different people. Secondly we will preprocess...

In this article, we use a self-synchronized watermark technology [7], to achieve the purpose of protection of electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. A Harr wavelet transform with 7 levels decomposition is adopted to transform the ECG signal and the synchronization code, combined with watermark, are quantized embedded in the low-frequency sub-band of level 7. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) between the embedded...
In this paper, a new statistical-based ECG algorithm, which applies the idea of matching Reduced Binary Pattern, is proposed to seek a timely and accurate human identity recognition. A comparison with previous researches, the proposed design requires neither waveform complex information nor de-noising pre-processing in advance. Our algorithm is tested on the public MIT-BIH arrhythmia and normal sinus...
There have been several studies on using computer technologies to improve elections and these studies lead to widespread adoption of ldquodirect recording electronicrdquo (DRE) voting systems in recent years. In an electronic-voting system, voters go to their voting places and prove that they are allowed to vote there by presenting an ID card with signet. After this, the voter is given a token that...
This paper presents a novel image interpolation method, extended linear interpolation, which is a low-cost architecture with the interpolation quality compatible to that of bi-cubic convolution interpolation. The architecture of reducing the computational complexity of generating weighting coefficients is proposed. Based on the approach, the low-cost hardware architecture with digital image scaling...
