We report a single-mode, 42 MHz, 3.5-W average power chirped pulse amplification fiber laser system operating at 1560 nm. The laser system comprises a dispersion-managed mode-locked oscillator and two amplifier stages. The output pulses are compressed to 180 fs by using two diffraction gratings.
Through the investigation of the difference of approximate entropy (ApEn) and Hilbert-Huang Transform Marginal spectrum entropy (HHTMSEn) of the Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals of specific low back pain (SLBP) patients before and after the massage, we wanted to reveal the impact of the massage in the brain, and provided the basis for the massage treatment of SLBP patients. We recruited twenty-six...
The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristic of trunk angle and flexibility of spine in lumbar disc herniation (LDH) patients, non-specific low back pain (LBP) patients and healthy subjects during bending exercises. 35 patients with LDH, 32 patients with non-specific LBP and 24 healthy controls participated in this experiment, volunteered to stand, then bend forward as far as possible,...
The aim of this study was to compare quantitatively the difference in Surface Electromyography (sEMG) features between healthy subjects and low back pain (LBP) patients. We recruited thirty LBP patients and thirty healthy subjects. They performed maximum voluntary flexion (MVF), while sEMG data were collected from the multifidus, external oblique and transverse abdominal muscles. We used Integrated...
The aim of this study was to analyze quantitatively the relationship between surface electromyography (sEMG) signals and the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) in lumbar disc herniation (LDH) patients. The differences in EMG root mean square (RMS), the correlations among EMG RMS of muscles, and the correlation between EMG RMS of left side muscle and EMG RMS of right side muscle in the healthy group and...
To deal with the tracking drift problems caused by drastic object appearance change in complex scene, the paper proposes a robust tracking algorithm based on the sparse representation. It designs an optimized objective function with the spatial structure constraint. And then, with the Lagrange multiplier theory and accelerate proximal gradient approach, the coefficient of object template and candidate...
Constant physical work is the leading cause of low back pain (LBP) in nurses, which affects their well-being and working efficiency. With this study, we aimed to explore the features of lumbar muscles including multifidi (MF) and musculus transversus abdominis (MTA) of nurses with LBP suffering from lumbar disc herniation (LDH). We estimated the degree of lumbar muscle strain by comparing the lumbar...
The aim of this study was to analyze Surface Electromyography (sEMG) of low back muscles of low back pain (LBP) patients when they performed different movements. We recruited eighteen female LBP patients and eighteen healthy female subjects. They performed forward and backward trunk bending with the maximum voluntary movement, while sEMG data were collected from the multifidus, external oblique and...
The aim of this study was to analyse quantitatively spine angle changes of subjects suffering from low back pain (LBP) during dynamic exercises. We explored the differences in the range of spine angle based on gender, disability severity, the correlation between the spine angle range and the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, as well as the differences in standard deviations between the healthy and...
Ambulatory blood pressure is critical in predicting some major cardiovascular events; therefore, cuff-less and noninvasive beat-to-beat ambulatory blood pressure measure-ment is of great significance. Machine-learning methods have shown the potential to derive the relationship between physio-logical signal features and ABP. In this paper, we apply random forest method to systematically explorer the...
Bioelectrical signal analysis is gaining significant interests from both academics and industries due to its capability for improved diagnosis and therapy of chronic diseases. In practice, different bio-signals, such as EEG, ECG, EOG and EMG, are usually contaminating each other, and the measured signal is the linear combination of them. It is critical to separate them since analysis of one type or...
It is common for medical oral English classroom to be teacher-centered instruction. But the weakest point of this method is that the students lose their autonomy in this learning environment and feel difficult to stimulate their interest in oral English learning. A new approach to oral English classroom is therefore required. Recently, a growing number of scholars home have focus their attention on...
Facial expressions recognition (FER) plays a much important role in various applications from human-computer interfaces to psychological tests. However, most methods are confronted with the quality of the face images, vanishing gradients problem, over-trained problem, difference of face images such as in age and ethnicity, mulitple parameters required tuning, and dubious class labels in the training...
An accurate and robust channel spacing monitor is proposed for denser Nyquist-WDM system. Based on low speed processing at the receiver, less than ± 150MHz estimation error is experimentally guaranteed and the robustness of the method is investigated.
Target detail information missing caused by low resolution or turbulence degraded, makes it extremely difficult to target identification and classification. Meanwhile, the category of the target usually have significant relationship with its size, it is feasible to preliminary identification and classification target by the size of the target. Our paper proposes a target size estimation method under...
We demonstrate an all fiber dispersion managed mode locked thulium laser generating sub-200 fs pluses with 168 mW output power at repetition rate of 30 MHz.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has accumulated amount of literature with a total of 1,059 volumes, more than 190,000 chapters, and more than 120,000,000 words during the last 2000 years. In the previous works, researchers annotated the phrases one by one with their own hands. Here we propose semantic annotation techniques based on Semantic units division and annotation are realized through constructing...
Raptor code is a kind of new fountain code which usually adopts belief propagation(BP) decoding algorithm. In order to improve the decoding success probability of Raptor code, this paper proposes two methods. On the one hand, we adopt a new construction method of check matrix for LDPC code, which can effectively avoid the girth of 4. On the other hand, we analyze and simulate the number of stopping...
A novel high pulse-energy Yb-doped all-fiber dual-cavity laser with large core-diameter fiber-based passive Q-switcher is reported. The monolithic fiber oscillator generates pulses with peak power of 3.4 kW and single pulse energy of 484 µJ.
Ultrasound represents a very compact, low cost method that is non-invasive and does not involve ionizing radiation. A new A-mode ultrasound pulser-receiver system, which digital control module is based on FPGA chip, has been designed and implemented. The pulser-receiver system consists of three parts: digital signal processing module, high frequency pulser and receiver module. The pulser was programmed...
