A corrugated substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) with dual non-Bragg resonance frequencies is proposed. Two resonance frequencies at 4.8 GHz and 8 GHz are demonstrated. Theoretical calculation, simulation, and measurement results show good mutual agreement. This kind of non-Bragg resonance is associated with the geometric configuration of the corrugated SIW.
In this work, an evanescent mode half mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) resonator is designed for a wireless passive sensing application at 5 GHz. The wireless pressure sensor has been implemented by placing a small Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) cavity, covered with a metal coated membrane, on top of the original resonator or by using a cavity ground plane. When the metal coated membrane is...
High performance microwave bandpass filters with low insertion loss, high selectivity, compact size and multiple bands are widely used for wireless and satellite communication systems [1]. During the years, bandpass waveguide filters have used all kinds of metallic and non-metallic insertions in order to improve performance and reduce size [2]. Since the first experimental demonstrations of metamaterial...
A tunable SRR antenna is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The proposed antenna has a variable radiation frequency from 1.81 GHz to 2.14 GHz with a tuning voltage between 0 and 9.5V. Simulated data show good agreement with measurement ones. Besides tuability, the proposed antenna has achieved a dimension reduction by 59.3 % compared with the monopole counterpart.
Non-Bragg resonance in a SIW has been successfully demonstrated using theory, simulation, and experiment. Both simulation and measurement results show good agreement with the theoretical calculation with an offset in insertion loss, which is attributed in part to improper matching in transition from the microstrip feeding with a quasi TEM mode to the SIW structure with a TE mode. This kind of SIW...
