Records of 10 rare and noteworthy lichen species in Poland have been presented. Four species, Japewia subaurea, Myriolecis persimilis, Palicella filamentosa, and Scoliciosporum sarothamni are new to the Polish part of the Sudetes. Anisomeridium polypori and Pyrenula coryli are new species to the Karkonosze Mountains.
The lichen biota of the Karnieszewice Forest Division (N Poland) is presented. Despite it is predominantly a strongly managed woodland area, 270 lichen species were found there including many rare species for Poland, as well as for European Lowland. Near 20% of the whole lichen biota are considered to be threatened in the country (categories CR, EN, VU), and 34 species are protected by law in Poland...
Scots pine stands are the most important forest type in Poland and the differentiation of the natural vegetation in these forests is well known. However, the intensive utilization causes the formation of the secondary communities, so that further studies of the vegetation diversity should be carried out with taking into consideration stand age and homogeneity of site conditions. The aim of this work...
Clear−cutting impacts site conditions seriously. However, in nutrient−poor sites the effects of stand removal can be minor than in nutrient−rich sites. The aim of this work was to assess whether the clear−cut can improve species diversity of ground Cladonia species, which decline has been observed in forest communities. In stands of different age classes (10, 11−20, 21−40, 41−60, 61−80, 81 years)...
The paper presents a list of 28 epilithic lichens found on mica schists of the Kowarski Grzbiet ridge (eastern part of the Karkonosze Mts). Three of them, Lecanora aff. gisleriana, Miriquidica pycnocarpa and Rimularia furvella are discussed in details as especially noteworthy taxa.
The paper presents results of floristic research of vascular plants in the nature reserve “Cisy” located near Bardo town in Bardo Mts (south-western Poland). Altogether 144 species have been found. Some of them are rare and threatened in Poland, e.g. Cephalanthera longifolia, Dactylorhiza sambucina, Neottia nidus-avis, Platanthera bifolia and Taxus baccata.
