In recent years, the manufacturing industry of distribution transformer (DT) in China has developed rapidly, and the competition is highly. The quality of the DTs was worried, where even using aluminum winding instead of copper winding in DTs without symbol. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the investment of distribution network construction will reach 1.7 trillion RMB, which makes a big market...
Photonic graphene, photonic crystal with honeycomb lattice is studied in the work. Using both finite element simulations and microwave experiments, we studied the existence of the edge modes at different edges of this “photonic graphene”. The edge states are observed experimentally on the bearded interfaces of photonic crystals. The physics of the occurrence of these edge modes are discussed and we...
In order to read out the signal of CdZnTe detectors, this paper presents a high-gain, third-order analogue signal processing application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The charge generated in detectors can be amplified and shaped by this circuit. Dual-stage charge sensitive amplifier and baseline holder are utilized to compensate the leakage current from DC-coupled detectors. A novel shaper is...
The global sea surface is not seamlessly covered by the along-track sea surface temperature (SST) data of the scanning microwave radiometer (SMR) aboard the Haiyang-2A (HY-2A) satellite, the first ocean dynamic environment satellite of China. In this paper, this coverage problem was solved by data fusion. The whole procedure includes the following steps. First, SST data within 200km of the coastline...
Silicon integrated quantum photonics has recently emerged as a promising approach to realising complex and compact quantum circuits, where entangled states of light are generated and manipulated on-chip to realise applications in sensing, communication and computation. Recent highlights include chip-to-chip quantum communications, programmable quantum circuits, chip-based quantum simulations and routes...
This paper presents a novel algorithm, named adaptive morphological lifting wavelet (AMLW). It is the first time to be applied for the detection of power quality disturbances (PQD). AMLW is a nonlinear wavelet transform which is based on morphological operation and the lifting scheme. The adaptability of AMLW lies in that the algorithm can select between two filters, the morphological gradient filter...
Wind generation is traditionally treated as a non-dispatchable resource and is fully absorbed unless there are security issues. To tackle the operational reliability issues caused by the volatile and non-dispatchable wind generation, many dispatch frameworks have been proposed, including robust unit commitment (RUC) considering wind variation. One of the drawbacks that commonly exist in those dispatch...
In this paper, a 92∼94 GHz low sidelobe level (SLL) and high gain slot antenna array based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology is presented. The antenna includes two SIW 16×16 arrays, which are placed back-to-back, and a waveguide divider. The aperture size of the antenna is 34×90 mm2. Simulated and measured results show that the return loss is larger than 10dB, and the SLLs in...
Dark current of our InGaAs/InP planar SAGCM APD is simulated. Activation energy Ea obtained from the I-V test under temperature range of 240K∼300K is cooperated in the simulation. Two origins of the dark current increasi of over one order of magnitude from the punchthrouth voltage to the breakthrough voltage are analyzed. Our results provide two critical points to reduce the dark current of an InGaAs/InP...
Epoxy mold compound with high Tg is used for high temperature applications such as automotive. However, downside of using high Tg EMC is the difficulty in preserving copper bond wires during acid decapsulation. The use of silver plated leadframes makes stitch bond exposure even more difficult as acid and conventional plasma etching easily attacks silver. A new decapsulation process is developed based...
Plasmonics is now well established field finding numerous applications in pharmacology, biology, optoelectronics and metamaterials among others. Linear optical properties and plasmon resonances of metallic nanoparticles or nano-antennas are well described in the literature by extinction and/or scattering spectroscopies and by radiation patterns in direct or in Fourier space. However, much less is...
SiGe for channel material has been explored as a major technology element after the introduction of FINFET into CMOS technology [1–4]. Research on long channel FETs and discrete short channel FETs demonstrated benefits in mobility [1–4] and reliability [2]. Given the disruption that SiGe FIN brings, every aspect associated with SiGe FIN needs to be carefully studied towards technology insertion. In...
We propose complete technology-design-system co-optimization method in which power, performance, thermal, area and cost metrics are all simultaneously optimized from transistor to mobile SOC system level. This novel method, Unified Technology Optimization Platform using Integrated Analysis (UTOPIA), incorporates thermally limited performance, wafer process complexity and die area scaling model in...
Whispering gallery mode resonator unit for low phase-noise oscillators was designed and tested at room and low temperatures. Use of the E-plane filter and optimization of the unit of coupling the resonator with microstrip transmission line allowed us to separate the operating EH1111 mode for the purpose of steady operation of the oscillator at 29.4 GHz. The obtained dependence of the resonator external...
GaN-based devices are of increasing importance for a wide range of system applications, such as power conversion and control, displays, and sensing in harsh environments. While dramatic progress in material quality and device performance has been achieved, several key impediments to the widespread adoption of GaN remain, including the high cost of native GaN substrates (needed to achieve low dislocation...
We present a versatile and flexible ultrafast optical laser setup, developed for future experiments at the European XFEL. Like the XFEL, the laser operates in burst-mode, emitting milli-Joule class few-cycle pulses at MHz repetition rates. At its core is an optical parametric amplifier optimized for 800nm emission. We present the design, capabilities, scope of operation and installation schedule.
The authors present the preliminary results on simulation and experimental study of K-band HTS (high-Tc superconductor)-based microstrip quasi-optic resonator. The resonator is the developing result of the proposed earlier microstrip quasi-optic resonator based on normal metal disk on dielectric substrate. The applied aspects of HTS quasi-optic resonator are discussed briefly.
This paper reports a compensating method for RF performance degradation of an ultra-wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) designed in 180 nm CMOS process. A self-compensating circuit for this LNA is presented. RF stress can cause a deterioration of RF performance due to the transconductance degradation. By applying this technique, the loss of transconductance can be detected automatically and can be...
The design of transversal gradient coil fabricated on the elliptic cylinder surface is discussed. The stream function method is used for gradient coil design. A set of basis functions for the construction of stream function is provided for the design of transversal elliptical gradient coils. In the final of the paper, a transversal elliptical gradient coils is designed with the stream function method...
Microwave frequency standards based on ions have made great progress over the past decades; a microwave atomic clock based on laser cooled 113Cd+ ions at Tsinghua University is carried out for about five years. In order to further improve the performance of the clock, a new experiment setup with dual traps and two kinds of ions was proposed. This paper reports our recent experimental progress of the...
