We investigate slowing light in Bragg reflector waveguides with a tilt coupling scheme between free-space propagation and slow guided mode. The optimization of incident angle and position of input light provides a low coupling loss of below 2 dB.
KamLAND is a reactor neutrino oscillation experiment with a very long baseline. This experiment successfully measured oscillation phenomena of reactor antineutrinos coming mainly from 53 reactors in Japan. In order to extract the results, it is necessary to accurately calculate time-dependent antineutrino spectra from all the reactors. A simple model of reactor cores and code implementing it were...
We present the tunable optical delay and nonlinear phase-shift using reverse-biased 1.55 mum VCSEL. The reduction of recovery time in saturable absorber with increasing reverse bias would enable to control the phase of high speed optical signals
