This paper presents an Augmented Reality (AR) game for learning words. Thirty-two children played the AR game and the equivalent real game. We have compared the results of the two games. The results indicate that children did not found significant differences between the two games except for one question, but 81% of the children liked most the AR game.
A number of novel technology-rich learning spaces have been developed over the last few years in UK. Many claims have been made in terms of how they can support and enhance learning, collaboration, community participation, and creativity. This line of research is investigating whether such learning spaces are living up to such claims. The approach is ethnographic, a number of field studies have been...
Adaptive educational hypermedia allows lessons to be personalized according to the needs of the learner. However, to achieve this, content must be split into stand-alone fragments that can be processed by a course personalization engine. Authoring content for this process is still a difficult activity, and it is essential for the popularization of adaptive educational hypermedia that authoring is...

Magic Board is a web-based environment that includes three important components (a problem posing center and an instructional material center, as well as the software interface) and elementary teachers can use to teach mathematics. Magic Board has been known as a good assistant for teaching elementary mathematics in Taiwan. This study developed a Magic Board questionnaire to help understand elementary...
Multi-core technology is becoming the mainstream of processor architecture. It is a great challenge for universities to offer students new theories because of the continuous changes in multi-core field. Different approaches are adopted as the solutions. Teachers play very important role in teaching multi-core curriculum in these approaches. However, how to train good teachers for multi-core curriculum...

At present, the students in vocational and higher training colleges have a universal problem that they are not good at autonomous learning. Innovating traditional models of instruction and creating IT-based autonomous learning environment are imperative. It seems that establishing an e-Learning platform is an effective method. Claroline is regarded as one of the most popular open source learning management...
With the development of IT technology, the volume of video data has been presenting the geometric series growth. How to rapidly capture the wanted teaching video data at the sea video database is the currently hot research topic. This discourse advances such a video retrieval method based on the artificial nerve network. The method would perform the content-based analysis and retrieval to the video...
With the latest advances in information and communication technologies, learners can now engage in continuous and rich learning-sessions that characterize today's digital learning ecosystems. In these ecosystems, learning resources are pervasive and dynamic. A key challenge is to develop a scalable learning system that addresses the inherent complexity of learning sessions and cater for the specific...
This paper details the ongoing development of a context-sensitive InfoStation-based architecture supporting the mobile eLearning service provision within a University campus domain. A general overview of this architecture is presented highlighting the main functional entities. Issues concerning the implementation of a context-sensitive service environment within the system are also detailed, including...
Many studies already indicated that cooperative learning can promote learners' interest than learning process purely based on individual competition, so that learners could get more enthusiastic while they can get involved in learning activities. Nevertheless, cooperative learning usually groups students by means of random or normal distribution approach, it is not a thoughtful means for learners...
Collaborative learning activities, based on constructivism, were applied within the introductory course on the Internet for the first year students of Computer science at the Faculty of Education. In the paper we present a form of wiki-supported collaborative learning followed by collaborative and peer assessment. We will make overview of the elements which indicate contributions of individual students...
The aim of this paper is to explain how a new type of participative role play simulation can be used to improve a learning situation. A learning goal is presented to make a concrete example of how to use the tool. The paper will address the particular learning goal, and how a total learning situation can be created to support the wanted outcome. We will discuss game design principles and the pedagogical...
This study carried out a sampling survey to the university teachers and students in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. From the survey we know that, most of the teachers have experienced the convenience of network, but students' use of network is still not optimistic. They offen carry out e-learning to complete the papers or exercises arranged by teachers. An overwhelming majority of students have not carried...
One challenge in the successful implementation of a blended learning scenario is the choice of the appropriate tools. The general question behind our practical approach is: “How well do different eLearning solutions provide functionality to realize a blended learning course, which is designed according to specific educational principles?” To approach a response to this question for our case, one typical...
Learning ecological science content and inquiry strategies should increasingly use the new tools from science - sensors for data capture, information visualization for data-analysis, low-cost mobile computers and mobiles for field-based science. The LET's GO! project seeks to develop, implement, research, and sustainably scale a new paradigm for fostering high school student learning in teams for...
The use of cases in teacher education is not a new phenomenon, with early records of case methods dating from the beginning of the last century. However, the rapid expansion of information and computer technologies over the past decade has influenced case construction and use in profound ways. Written cases are now being integrated with video and other textual forms to create sophisticated hypermedia...
