A detailed statistical characterization of drain current local and global variability in sub 15nm gate length Si/SiGe Trigate NW pMOSFETs is carried out. An analytical mismatch model is used to extract the main matching parameters. Our results indicate that, despite their very aggressive dimensions, such devices maintain relatively good variability performance.
This paper presents a hierarchical approach to link the advanced multisubband Boltzmann transport equation (MSBTE) solver to the conventional drift-diffusion (DD) model for performance evaluation of non-planar transistors in logic technology development. An automated, physics-based procedure to extract the DD model parameter set from the MSBTE simulation is described. An update on the surface roughness...
In this paper, we employ a newly-developed one-dimensional multi-subband Monte Carlo (1DMSMC) simulation module to study electron transport in nanowire structures. The 1DMSMC simulation module is integrated into the GSS TCAD simulator GARAND coupling a MC electron trajectory simulation with a 3D Poisson-2D Schrödinger solver, and accounting for the modified acoustic phonon, optical phonon, and surface...
Thin films are now used in several fields, such as coating, sensors, material tuning. Yet, the determination of mechanical parameters of these films is still a challenge and most of the characterization methods are electromagnetic or electric. In previous works, it has been shown that the transmission spectrum is very sensitive to etching. In this study, investigation of the feasibility of the characterization...
Iterative methods for solving the power flow problem, including the Newton Raphson method and fast decoupled methods require good starting points, otherwise they may not converge or may converge to the wrong (low voltage) solution. The holomorphic embedding method (HEM) is a recursive, not iterative, method which uses the no-load condition as its starting points and is theoretically guaranteed to...
In linear programming, the transportation problem is one of the most important and successful applications of quantitative analysis for solving business problems in products distribution. Basically, the aim is to minimize the cost of shipping goods from one location to another, so that the needs of each arrival area are met and every shipping location operates within its capacity. This paper presents...
This paper examines the influence of the displacement threshold energy and the treatment of the threshold on the 1-MeV(Si) response function. This uncertainty contribution is characterized in the form of a covariance matrix.
To meet the energy demand, solar photovoltaic has already emerged as a convincing renewable energy technology. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) modules are one of the most effective, sustainable, and eco-friendly systems in recent world. Different types of PV solar technologies like Mono crystalline silicon, poly crystalline silicon, amorphous silicon, thin film are the most popular technologies to produce...
Simulation is a key feature in validating the protocols dedicated for VANET applications. Since the vehicles mobility is driven by the human mobility characteristics and is controlled by the geographical restrictions of the roads, the work presented in this paper is aimed to having a realistic mobility model that incorporates both the social aspects of human mobility together with the geographical...
Quantum-well infrared photodetectors (QWIPs) have become research focus in recent years due to its many inherent properties. However, the measurement of internal parameters is very difficult; instead, computer simulation and device modeling provide a better way to analyze quantum structure devices. In order to solve this issue, the electronics performance and the optical performance of a QWIP fabricated...
Knowledge on the dynamics of standard epidemic models and their variants over complex networks has been well-established primarily in the stationary regime, with relatively little light shed on their transient behavior. In this paper, we analyze the transient characteristics of the classical susceptible-infected (SI) process with a recovery policy modeled as a state-dependent retrial queueing system...
This work investigates quantum ballistic transport in ultra-small junctionless semiconducting nanowire transistors, within the framework of self-consistent Schrodinger-Poisson problem. A sub-band decomposition approach has been taken to make the problem numerically tractable. Finally simulated transport characteristics for small diameter (d≤5 nm) n-Si-channel cylindrical gate-all-around junctionless...
It is important to know the color appearance for dichromats to improve their visual environment generally. To represent the color appearance, the Brettel model has been used. A comparison of the Brettel model and a model that is modified by considering chromatic adaptation is carried out in this study. The compassion was carried out using combinations of colors with a very small difference to determine...
We present an automatic method for extracting the geologic features of gravity and magnetic anomaly bodies. Combining the curvature, analytic signal and upward continuation processing together, we present a depth-estimation method for interpretation of sources. The method only uses the first derivatives of the gravity or magnetic anomaly reducing to the pole, which is insensitive to noise and has...
In this paper a simplification method of TSV interposer for thermal analysis was proposed. In order to analyze the accuracy of this simplification method, the actual model and corresponding equivalent model with 100 TSVs were established by using ANSYS Workbench software. In this study, the error of simplification method with various TSV diameters, TSV pitches have been determined. Conclusions are...
Since fairness deals with the quality of distributing the jobs and creates an ambience that is free from any discrimination, any distribution management problem must take fairness issue into consideration. Again, since the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is also a distribution management problem, any VRP solving algorithm must consider the fairness when solutions are explored. However, most of the proposed...
In critically ill patients suffering from hyperglycemia, it has been recently shown that mortality and morbidity can be reduced by keeping blood glucose within the range of 80–110 mg/dL. However, maintaining glycemia within such range is difficult due to the time variability in insulin sensitivity in critically ill patients. In this paper, we propose a novel glycometabolism model of critically ill...
The quadratic field characteristics are derived in the class of real-valued functions of time for the circular waveguide. The evolutionary approach to electrodynamics is applied for the field analysis where Klein-Gordon equation plays a central role.
The essence of a public bicycle sharing system (PBSS) is very simple: to allow someone to pick up a bicycle at some point of a region and return it to another place. A redistribution vehicle is used to move bicycles from stations that are almost full to those almost empty; this is usually referred to as balancing operation. This poses an important research problems, i.e., the modeling of PBSS suitable...
