This paper summarizes the outcome of a seminar which was held during NOC2011. The aim was to identify ways of improving the management of electronic waste. Much e-waste finds its way onto dumpsites which is bad for the environment and a waste of valuable resources. Moreover, extracting and recycling minerals from e-waste is cheaper than extraction from virgin ore.
The Valence lithium polymer battery offers a number of significant advantages over existing rechargeable batteries which result in longer operating time, decreased battery size and weight for a given application, improved safety and flexibility in design for a wide range of applications. The authors concentrate on the manufacturing and technology of the polymer battery system.<<ETX>>
