In this paper, we report the optical properties of magnesium (Mg)-substituted zinc oxide (ZnO) (Zn1-xMgxO) nanoparticles (diameter ≤ 20 nm). The ZnO and alloyed nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical route and have Wurzite structure. The maximum Mg substitution reported here is ≈7.5%. This leads to a blue shift of the absorption spectra by 0.5 eV as well as a blue shift of the near-band edge photo...
Spindle-shaped lead selenide (PbSe) nanocrystals were synthesized by solution processing synthetic method for the first time. The prepared PbSe nanocrystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and near-infrared absorption spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction pattern shows that the synthesized PbSe nanocrystals have cubic rock salt structure. Spindle-shaped PbSe nanocrystals...
In this paper we report linear and nonlinear optical properties of the thin films based on nanocrystals ZnSe embedded in centrosymmetric matrix PMMA, deposited by spin coating technique. Absorption and emission spectroscopy are shown respectively a blue shift and a strong band emission near the band gap of bulk material ZnSe, which is tunable with particles size. Blue shift of the absorption edge...
We present a newly developed photothermal imaging technique to perform absorption spectroscopy of individual nano-objects. Intrinsic size effects in the surface plasmon resonance of gold nanoparticles and CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals in the multiexcitonic regime are studied.
