In this paper, an FPGA-based on-line switching loss measurement system for an advanced condition monitoring system is presented. For this purpose, an on-line measurement system for the semiconductor voltage and current transients integrated at the gate-driver voltage level is proposed. This system and the switching loss calculations are verified by experimental results.
This paper evaluates switching and conduction losses of a direct AC fed converter for switched reluctance machine drives. The commutation process of the converter employing space vector modulation is analyzed, and the switching losses associated with ldquohardrdquo turn-on and ldquohardrdquo turn-off events are quantified based on experimentally validated device characteristics. It is shown that for...
A high performance, high voltage switch obtained by a series connection of 3300 V IGBT modules is presented. The correct voltage sharing between the devices is ensured by the presence of a simple and reliable auxiliary circuit, which acts as feedback on the gate terminal. A comparison in terms of power losses, output currents and switching performances to a single 6500 V IGBT module is also presented...
