In this paper, an FPGA-based on-line switching loss measurement system for an advanced condition monitoring system is presented. For this purpose, an on-line measurement system for the semiconductor voltage and current transients integrated at the gate-driver voltage level is proposed. This system and the switching loss calculations are verified by experimental results.
This paper presents an optimization strategy for DC-DC converters. The goal is to find the optimum design for the LC output filter in terms of the defined battery voltage and current ripple limits as well as the overall system efficiency (battery and converter).
This paper presents an FPGA-based on-line condition monitoring system integrated at gate-driver voltage level. The system uses the change of on-state voltage and thermal resistance as ageing indicators. The monitoring is realized by implementing an on-line semiconductor power loss measurement system for switching and on-state losses and a thermal model of the module. Apart from the concept, its practical...
This paper deals with the optimization of the components of a multiphase interleaved operated buck converter for battery charging applications and proposes two control strategies. The proposed control strategies allow the number of active phases and the switching frequency to be adapted according to the output power, enabling a significant increase to the power handling capability without increasing...
This paper proposes a novel control strategy for multiphase interleaved dc-dc converters for EV battery charging applications. The proposed control strategy allows to adapt the number of active phases and the switching frequency according to the output power. This strategy results to an increased partial load efficiency and current handling capability of the semiconductors while the size of the semiconductor,...
In this paper the complete topology of a multifunctional charging system for electric vehicle (EV) is discussed. A resonant inductive energy transfer system is analyzed, simulated and experimentally validated. Finally, a control strategy for the bidirectional LLC resonant converter is proposed in order to increase efficiency in partial load operation.
