Most carbon nanomaterials are touted for their unusual conductive or semiconductive properties. In this paper, we compare the many-layered graphene oxide (GO) and GO-silver nanocomposite “papers” to elucidate their unusual resistive properties. We have observed significant nonlinearities in resistivity, its dependence on temperature, and current-induced effects on the resistivity of these materials.
Surface resistance measurements on insulating solids are usually performed by measuring the current induced when an electric field tangential to the surface is applied. The measured current results from the addition of currents flowing along the surface, and also partly in the volume. In this paper, surface current measurements on an alumina-filled epoxy resin are performed under varying conditions...
Contact resistance of electrostatic dissipative materials is typically higher than the resistance of the sample in a measurement circuit. In this study we have compared electrodes and estimated uncertainties in qualifications of solid planar materials. Concentric ring electrodes had significantly higher errors and higher uncertainties in comparison with the bar electrodes.
The present work aims at studying the cooling performance of a thermoelectric device that integrated with integrated heat spreader (IHS) on a flip-chip plastic ball grid array (FC-PBGA) package. The new thermoelectric device herein is fabricated on the metal substrates by flip-chip assembly process. Thermal performance of the new package was comprehensive studied. The thermal resistances of IHS with/without...
In this study, we fabricated in-plane thermoelectric micro-generators (4 mm times 4 mm) based on bismuth telluride thin films by using flash evaporation method. The thermoelectric properties of as-grown thin films are lower than those of bulk materials. Therefore the as-grown thin films were annealed in hydrogen at atmospheric pressure for 1 hour in a temperature range of 200 degC. to 400degC. By...
We present the measured resistivity, Hall coefficient, and magnetization for three kinds of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+∂ ceramics subjected to various heat treatments. The Hall effect shows that in this system the carriers have hole-like characteristics. The hole density varies according to the heat treatment; the hole density increases and Tc decreases as a result of oxidation. In spite of the atmosphere in which...
