A fast and green approach has been developed for the preparation of nanocrystalline zinc oxide (ZnO) in room-temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) via ultrasonic irradiation. For comparison, ZnO nanoparticles have been prepared under the same experimental condition in triethylene glycol (TEG). The results show that ZnO nanorods can be prepared in RTIL, while spherical nanoparticles are obtained in TEG....
Nanocrystalline zinc oxide (nc-ZnO) thin films with c-axis orientation were synthesized by plasma assisted pulsed laser deposition from metallic zinc. Structural characterization and annealing effects were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The synthesized nc-ZnO films have a wurtzite structure and high crystallographic orientation...
In this paper, we describe a low temperature, solution-based synthesis uniform ZnO nanorods with a gram scale, and their ethanol gas sensor property. The morphological, structural and optical properties of the as-prepared nanorods were investigated by means of transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence. The results showed...
Spherical ZnO microspheres were obtained in a simple system using a short time process, without catalysts, at atmospheric pressure and using water as oxidant agent. Analysis with SEM shows the microstructures have spherical shapes covered with pencil-like structures. XRD spectrum reveals that as-synthesized ZnO products crystallize in the wurtzite phase.
ZnO-based thin-film transistors (TFT) have been fabricated on p-Si (100) substrates by radio frequency (rf) magnetron sputtering at room temperature with a bottom gate configuration. The XRD and SEM show that ZnO films had high crystalline quality. The ZnO films present an average optical transmission (including the glass substrate) of 80% in the visible part of the spectrum. The electrical properties...
The effect of the ZnO homo-buffer layer on the structural, optical and electrical properties of the Sol-gel ZnO films was systematically investigated. The XRD and SEM results show that the homo-buffer layer can improve the degree of the preferential c-axis orientation (the best Lotering orientation factor (F) can reach 0.915), the grain size and the surface morphology of thereon ZnO films. A narrower...
In this paper, we present our recent study on the fabrication and characterization of ammonia gas sensors based on quartz thickness shear mode (TSM) resonators employing ZnO nanowires as the sensitive coating layer. c-axis vertically aligned ZnO nanowire arrays were synthesized on the quartz resonator through a simple hydrothermal synthesis route. The ZnO nanowires were characterized by X-ray diffraction...
