Please note, we are currently updating the 2018 Journal Metrics. The primary objective of Journal of Flow Chemistry will be to stimulate the development and advancement of flow chemistry for the benefit and progress of the chemistry community. The Journal will serve as a high-level scientific forum for rapid publication of the latest results of flow chemistry and provide the most important information on scientific events, technology developments, products, etc. for the fast growing flow chemistry community. The main focus of the Journal will be flow chemistry in inorganic, organic, analytical and process chemistry in academic research as well as in applied research and development in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, fine-chemical, petro-chemical, fragrance industry. However, the Journal should not be limited to the above but also include relevant flow chemistry aspects of material science, catalysis, green chemistry, nanotechnology, biotechnology latest development on flow instruments (engineering, automation), as well as theoretical and IT related topics

The synthesis of plate-like silica particles, which are of importance for a variety of applications, are mainly based on the widely adopted method of the sol-gel reaction of silicon alkoxides in traditional batch-wise instrumentation. In this study, continuous-flow synthesis of amorphous plate-like silica particles is reported through combining droplet-based microfluidics and the sol-gel reaction...

An attempt is made to achieve a continuous enrichment of rare-earth metal ions from aqueous solutions in a microflow device by applying magnetic forcing. An aqueous solution containing holmium(III) ions is pumped through a small channel which was exposed to a strong inhomogeneous magnetic field. At the outflow, the near- and far-field parts of the flow are separated and analyzed using UV-Vis spectroscopy...
