Cascaded Integrator Comb (CIC) structure is used extensively in the design of a decimation filter. This paper analyses the existing design of decimation filter and proposes a new design with reduced hardware requirements. The designs are modelled using VHDL, simulated using ISim and implemented in Spartan 3E FPGA. The synthesis report shows the reduction in number of I/O bits.
RFID is an object identification and tracking technology worth several billion dollars today. Chipless technology doesn't require communication protocols and IC, making it cheaper. Passive RFID Tags use backscattering technique to send information to the Reader. In this paper, we present a passive RFID Tag based on Ultra-wide band technology. The chipless RFID tag modeled uses passive elements, namely...
Requirements Engineering (RE)[1] refers to the process of formulating, documenting and maintaining software requirements[2] and to the subfield of software engineering concerned with this process. In requirement engineering phase we can gather the requirements from user and use this requirement for software development and produce software products that satisfy the user needs. Various models such...
This paper describes implementation of ECG Sensor. The system is capable of acquiring and storing patient's ECG data in real-time. This received patient data can be further processed for any real time processing applications. System hardware comprises of micro-controller based ECG acquisition system. Software developed in Visual Basic 6 helps in displaying real time ECG signal. It also stores ECG...
A novel Ultra Wide Band (UWB) dielectric Radar Absorber (RA) with weight and thickness constraints is presented in this paper. Radar reflectivity of − 10 dB (minimum) is realized in the frequency band from 2 GHz. to 32 GHz, for normal incidence. The panel type RA comprises four lossy frequency selective surface (FSS) layers, each based on circular patches in skewed grid lattice backed by RF transparent...
In deep sub-micron technology, Mesh-based clock distribution is becoming a preferred method to distribute the clock since it is tolerant to process variations. Buffers are placed on the mesh nodes to drive the mesh wire capacitance and large load capacitance of clock sinks. In this short paper, we propose a buffer reduction algorithm which can reduce the power dissipated in clock meshes. We calculate...
This paper is on FPGA based emulation which is one the approaches to perform pre-silicon SoC validation, accelerate system software development and to meet time-to-market demands. This paper presents a verification methodology of SoC and also deals with simplified implementation of complex clock designs in FPGA are presented, which needs to be skillfully handled to meet the said criteria. Each base...
An adaptive soft calibration circuit using the technique of Support Vector Machine (SVM) is reported in this paper for temperature measurement using thermocouple. The objectives of the present work are: (i) to extend linearity range of measurement to 100% of full scale input range, (ii) to make measurement technique adaptive to variations in temperature coefficients (different type of thermocouple)...
There is a significant interest in the technology to detect medical problems in an economical cost. It has become essential to develop wearable and ambulatory systems for monitoring and analyzing various biological signals. This work focuses on development of Android Mobile Application that reads signals from EEG source and gives an analysis to the doctor. With this application a detailed health of...
In the past decade a lot of research has gone into Automatic Speech Emotion Recognition(SER). The primary objective of SER is to improve man-machine interface. It can also be used to monitor the psycho physiological state of a person in lie detectors. In recent time, speech emotion recognition also find its applications in medicine and forensics. In this paper 7 emotions are recognized using pitch...
Nodes in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) have limited battery energy. Therefore they have limited network lifetime. Thus prolonging network lifetime is considered as an important design objective in energy-constrained networks such as MANETs. Recent work in the area of wireless charging allows nodes in a MANET to recharge wirelessly and readily available for operation forever. This paper deals with...
This paper discusses about the various techniques and methods used for pushing or notification of messages using various Android connectivity methodologies on Android devices & applications. The concept of Google Cloud Messaging, C2DM & Xtify is explained in brief with their applications, procedure and working. The current application and usage of these technologies is also discussed with...
Of the various onboard data compression techniques used in image processing, DPCM is one of the most commonly used. This paper presents a variant of DPCM based image compression technique called DPCM-ML. DPCM-ML is an effective technique for compressing images with high degree of contrast. This paper explains the DPCM-ML technique and the implementation methodology used. For the hardware implementation,...
As technology is growing wireless communication is also rapidly growing and finding potential application in industries. Development of highly efficient DDC architecture is very important since with rapid technology growth need for complex services are increasing demanding for high data rate transmission and high speed multimedia services. In DDC system two major operations are carried out. First...
This paper presents a prototype of a military robot which implements an application of real time detection and tracking of human beings. A depth sensing camera system by Microsoft Kinect is utilized on a physical robot for human detection and aiming in static mode of operation. Human detection is obtained by using APIs of Open Natural Interaction (OpenNI) framework and the aiming routine is carried...
In this paper we propose a framework for the implementation of an android based wireless gesture controlled robot. There is great demand for robotic systems in regions of operation where a direct human intervention is not possible either because of redundant nature of the task or due to the harmful nature of the region of operation. There is a constant need in the robotic industry for an improved...
This paper describes various measures that have been taken to ensure Electromagnetic Compliance of Man Machine Interface Computer used in Fire Control Radar System as per MIL-STD-461E. It covers evaluation and reduction of radiated emission from the unit under test. Even with basic design techniques in place non-conformance to the standard were observed. The potential sources of Electromagnetic Interference...
Ever increasing demand of distributed computing and Internet based services have become part and parcel of human daily life to perform activities. Service failures occur due to failure of processing elements, storage, communication system, undetected/unexpected bugs in the service. In interactive applications if a service takes more than the stipulated time or fail to meet hard and soft constraints...
