A dual-band ASK transmitter is implemented using 0.18-um CMOS technology for RFID applications. Injection-lock technique is adopted for carrier synthesis. The transmitter delivers power levels of 2.9 and −0.8 dBm at operating bands of 384–448 MHz and 768–896 MHz, respectively, where phase noises of −124.5 dBc/Hz and −117.0 dBc/Hz are achieved at the offset frequency of 1 MHz.
The social life connection between the blind people and the visually healthy people was not active in the past. This paper presents a prototype game designed for both the visually healthy people and the blind people. They can play together in the game in order to construct interaction between their social lifes. The visually healthy person has to put on an eye patch. The player moves an egg. The speaker...
A multi-carrier UHF RFID system provides the required power of a passive tag via multiple carriers. It is proved that the method can effectively extend the tag access range since the tag operating power is almost always satisfied. However, the extension is confined due to waveform distortion of reader command at the tag's demodulator. This work discusses this problem and proposes a solution by adding...
In this paper we design a remote control for home lighting devices with radio-frequency identification and current detection of outlets. The system is composed of microcontroller, radio-frequency identification, solid state relays (SSR), current transformer and Bluetooth module. Through the RFID identification and application software module the user learns electricity recommendations and can have...
An AC impedance-based technique for active online measurements of Li-ion battery systems is developed in this paper. An AC impedance technique is proposed to estimate state of charge (SOC) for Li-ion battery. The technique includes a set of static and dynamic measurements that are required for state of charge estimation. In this paper, potentiostatic measurements of Li-ion batteries and AC signal...
A fully integrated solar charger controller is presented in this paper. The charger has wide input voltage range about 10V to 28V for the solar-powered panel. The input loop regulation is used here as the MPPT protection. This charger also provides different kinds of battery voltages about 4V to 12V. The controller system uses just one error amplifier and no external compensation components is needed...
Traditionally, the industries are separated into individual segments of consumer electronics, displays, touch panels, lighting, semiconductors, packaging, and so on. In recent years, the consumers' behaviors have changed from the demands of functional commands to intelligent interactions. As a result, industrial research activities have also evolved to the integration of multiple disciplines. In this...
This paper presents a new concept of sigma-delta modulator (SDM) for biomedical applications. It combines switched-capacitor (SC) and switched-opamp (SOP) techniques. To Avoid signal distortion and nonlinear resistance in implementing the CMOS resistor of the SDM, an approach, replacing SC modulator with SOP modulator and reducing power consumption of the second-stage modulator, is utilized.
With the aging of population and the lower birth rate will increase the cost of man power for medicine. This paper proposed a method with small module to monitor the human body for chronic patients who need the long-term monitoring. A wireless communication, IEEE 802.15.1 Bluetooth specification, is used to develop the portable platform to transmit the ECG signals for healthcare monitoring.
Design procedure of a dc-dc step down converter is presented by means of computer simulations. An input voltage from the photovoltaic module is fed into the converter and regulated to a 13.65volt voltage source. A feedback controller is introduced to meet the design specifications of 60° phase margin at 8kHz unit gain frequency. The closed loop response is shaped by a double zero compensated OP-AMP...
