We proposed EM-wave absorber with periodic patch antennas. It has two feed points on a square patch. We simulated electromagnetic field of patch antennas having infinite periodic structures by using FDTD method and designed at 2.4GHz band. Then, we manufactured and measured the EM-wave absorber for 2.45GHz. As a result, both H- and V-polarized waves could be absorbed at 2.4GHz.
In this paper, a novel power plane is proposed using the novel S-shaped bridge electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure to isolate the ground bounce noise (GBN) and ultrawideband suppression of simultaneous switching noise (SSN) in high-speed circuit. The S-shaped bridge effectively increases the inductance between two adjacent unit cells. And the ripples are held down by open stub to get higher attenuation...
A new real-time and high resolution electromagnetic wave source visualization system is presented. The system can determine the angle of incidence and visualize the wave source by combining a Lüneburg lens and an electromagnetic band gap (EBG) absorber. The Lüneburg lens is used to physically separate the different direction incident wave and focus them into the different focal points on the lens...
Several solutions to decrease the propagation of simultaneous switching noise (SSN) in power distribution network (PDN) were evaluated for boards with active components. Radiated emission of the boards using power track, 2 cell symmetric power island (or one-cell Electromagentic Band Gap (EBG)) with square patches or asymmetric EBG was measured using a Reverberation Chamber, and the results were compared...
The guard trace is effective for suppressing common-mode generation caused by placing a signal trace close to the return edge on a printed circuit board. Our previous studies on the guard trace focused only on a design methodology for reducing common-mode radiation, but the placing guard trace close to the signal line increases crosstalk to deteriorate signal integrity. A guard trace with a periodic...
