We report the characteristics of a wavelength swept laser with a scanning fiber Fabry-Perot filter in the 1300 nm. We investigate the dependence of the scanning frequencies of the conventional and Fourier domain mode-locked (FDML) wavelength swept laser. In the FDML swept laser, the transient intensity profiles and the tuning bandwidths were investigated according to the injection currents and detuning...
We propose and demonstrate a modelocked bi-directional VECSEL with a double V cavity configuration. The laser generates 1.04 mum optical pulses with a 0.76 GHz repetition rate and a total average output power of 4 mW.
We describe the operation of a femtosecond Cr4+:YAG laser that has been mode locked using a novel GaInNAsSb SESAM. 230 fs pulses were generated at an average output power of 280 mW.
We have developed a cw 5-W 756-nm injection-locked Ti:sapphire laser and generated 1.1-W 378-nm radiation by its frequency-doubling in an external enhancement cavity, which is useful for the selective optical pumping of thalium isotopes.
We report the passive phase locking of three fiber lasers based on a common ring cavity. The cavity provides the common resonating modes of the array through mutual injection locking.
We demonstrate a scalable approach for the generation of high average power fs pulse trains by optically injection locking an amplification cavity. Initial results generated 4.7 Watts average power and 70 fs pulses.
We present an injection locked single-frequency laser with an asymmetric resonator for transversal mode control. To characterize the laser at the operation point the TEM00 mode content was measured in respect to the pump power.
External-cavity mode-locking of a quantum-dot laser is demonstrated with record-low repetition-rates of 310 MHz, and harmonic repetition-rates up to 4 GHz. Fourier-limited 930 fs pulse generation is achieved. The pulse-energy of ~0.45 pJ is independent of operating conditions.
We have coherently combined a total power of 7.2 W CW using an individually addressable 10-element-array of 980-nm slab-coupled optical waveguide lasers (SCOWLs). The robust, passive phase-locking is accomplished using a fractional Talbot external cavity.
We present the first solitary mode-locked thin disk oscillator with cavity-dumping. The laser generates pulse energies of 3 muJ with pulse durations below 700 fs at 1 MHz repetition rate.
Dynamical properties of mode-locked thin-disk lasers with cavity-dumping are studied with numerical simulations and experimental data. Limitations are identified, design criteria for future systems are deducted, and estimates of possible pulse energies given.
We report experimental and numerical results on the pulse dynamic of passively modelocked Yb-doped fiber laser operating in the chirped-pulse regime. A newly design cavity with a CFBG provides positive dispersion with negligible nonlinearity.
An ytterbium fiber oscillator is demonstrated comprising a hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber fusion spliced to single-mode fibers in the cavity generating pulses of 4.1 nJ energy and pulse width of 210 fs.
We report a 2 GHz mode locked vertical external cavity surface emitting laser using a hybrid metal-metamorphic Bragg mirror on the gain structure with a resonant two quantum wells GaInNAs semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM).
A scheme of two-mode injection-locked Fabry-Perot laser using second-order sideband injection is investigated, which can be used for 60 GHz millimeter-wave generation in radio-over-fiber system. Modulation response enhancement of Fabry-Perot lasers is also experimentally demonstrated.
Tunable and multi-wavelength mode-locked operation of a fiber laser is demonstrated. A loop mirror with highly nonlinear fiber is used as an all-optical modulator; tuning is achieved through dispersive gratings and a tunable optical delay.
We investigate the noise characteristics of an ultra-high repetition rate Raman fiber laser mode-locked by dissipative four-wave mixing and demonstrate a significant reduction of the number of supermodes by incorporating a subcavity into the laser.
We report on long-cavity modelocked laser with Yb:CALGO crystal, with, first, a 27-MHz, sub 100-fs single-pulse regime and, second, a very atypical double-pulse dualwavelength femtosecond regime.
