Równoczesne przeprowadzanie obróbki laserowej i obróbki mechanicznej warstwy wierzchniej w podwyższonej temperaturze znacznie zmniejsza chropowatość powierzchni i podwyższa jej własności użytkowe bez konieczności dodatkowej obróbki wykańczajacej.
The objective of this paper is to present results of a new method applied for the modification of surface layer of steel consisting in combining of laser hardening or alloying with the burnishing process . In most cases melting the metal surface layer by laser beam and subsequent recrystalization generates the tension stresses that may lead to microcracking. Simultaneous laser processing and mechanical machining of the surface layer in raising temperature considerable decrease surface roughness and increase its usability without necessity of additional finishing.
