The subject of the article concerns the issues of the relationships between the living and the dead presented in the context of funeral rites and beliefs concerning 'the ultimate moment'. The discussed rites and beliefs concern mainly those of the dead who died unnatural death. The authoress distinguishes two categories of the 'not-loved departed' whom she calls 'the undesired' and 'unworthy'. She gives examples of unconventional attitudes and behaviour taken from folk tales and literature. At the end of her consideration she discusses the case of 'body worlds' - the exposition of 'plastinates' by dr Günter von Hagens.
