The aim of the article is to analyze two views in lexicography on three predicates of the item 'równy'. Descriptive units have been based on A. Boguslawski's (1987, 1993, and others) criterion of entering formal-functional proportional relation. The contradiction test shows lack of semantic relation between the predicates and definitional suggestions included in the entries of monolingual dictionaries. The same test indicates the occurrence of semantic subsequent relation between predicates: 'równy1', 'równy2', 'równy3', and the predicate -ktos przewiduje, ze 'p' - (somebody predicts that 'p'). Semantic differences between individual units are associated with the kind of predicated objects. In case of 'równy1' prediction concerns the set of elements of material objects, in case of 'równy2' - physical events, and in case of 'równy3' - psychic events.
