We investigate a novel In0.53Ga0.47As/Al0.85Ga0.15As0.56Sb0.44 (hereafter InGaAs/AlGaAsSb) avalanche photodiode (APD) for high speed operation. The fabricated APD with 20 µm diameter exhibits a maximum responsivity of 5.33 A/W at 1550 nm, a maximum 3-dB bandwidth (f3dB) of 14 GHz, and a clear eye diagram at 10 Gb/s. A GBP value as high as 407.4 GHz was extracted. The results demonstrate the potential...
Artificial spin ice, a class of lithographically created arrays of interacting ferromagnetic nanometre-scale islands have been intensively investigated during the last few decades due to the competing interactions [1, 2]. The degenerate magnetization ground state resulting from frustration in spin ice structures is one of the subjects that have attracted a lot of attention. It may result in potential...
A bounded plasma stealth model is proposed in this paper. The method of impedance transformation with multiple dielectrics is used to study the propagation properties of electromagnetic (EM) waves in this plasma slab. The relations between the plasma parameters and the reflection which is a combination of the power reflected from the wall-plasma interface, the partial reflections from the bulk plasma,...
