This paper reports a micro direct methanol fuel cell (muDMFC) integrated with a heater and a temperature sensor to realize temperature control. A thermal model for the muDMFC is set up based on heat transfer and emission mechanisms. The muDMFC with a temperature control system is fabricated by using MEMS technologies, assembled with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) materials and Polymethylmethacrylate...
This paper presents a micro direct methanol fuel cell (muDMFC) featured by the novel anode structure with microblocks, which drive the fuel from the laminar flow toward the turbulent flow. Both the muDMFC with microblocks and the regular serpentine-channel one are fabricated by using MEMS technologies and reliable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) assembly method. The performance of the prototype is measured...
This paper presents a micro direct methanol fuel cell (muDMFC) stack implemented by micro fabrication process and PDMS assembly method. The muDMFC stack consists of two muDMFCs stacked one by one with the anode plate shared. Experiment results show that the muDMFC stack generated a power density of 12.71mW/cm2, 39.3% higher than that of a single muDMFC, at the cost of only 23% increase in volume.
