Organizing and rearranging library books in appropriate order requires attention and care of librarians. The book indexing and organizing algorithm will detect misplaced library books and suggest a proper position to the user. It can be implemented in a smartphone or a server or an autonomous embedded system. It first segments the captured image to find proper tag area in the book. Then crops that...
Nanoparticles are rapidly becoming ubiquitous in modern technology and so there is an emerging need to characterise single nanoparticles rapidly and accurately. In the current technological paradigm, non-optical techniques such as electron microscopy (EM) and atomic-force microscopy (AFM) are favored for this role. Nano-characterization using optical microscopy though has several advantages; it can...
A systematic growth temperature study has been performed to achieve high quality InP nanowires (NWs) by selective-area metal-organic vapour-phase epitaxy (SA-MOVPE). The optical quality of these nanowires was evaluated from time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) at 300 K.
This work presents a pioneering study on the MOCVD droplet epitaxy of strain-free GaAs/Al0.3Ga0.7As quantum molecules. By choosing the appropriate growth conditions, GaAs quantum molecules can be obtained with controlled size and density. The formation of these molecules is mainly due to the anisotropic migration of Ga adatoms and the edge enhanced crystallization process. Furthermore, these molecules...
We report the structural and optical characterization of GaAs1−xSbx nanowires (NWs) grown on GaAs (111)B substrates using metalorganic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD). The NWs are perpendicular to the substrate with almost defect-free zinc blende (ZB) structure. Micro-photoluminescence results demonstrate high emission efficiency at around 1.3 µm from the NWs.
Optical dipole nano-antennas are passive devices needing light from external sources. In this work, highly efficient coupling of light from microdisk lasers into plasmonic nano-antennas by using nano-tapers is proposed.
We report the effect of V/III ratio and nanowire diameter on the crystal structure and optical properties of InP nanowires. Time -resolved photoluminescence studies have revealed that wurtzite nanowires show longer carrier lifetimes than zinc-blende ones.
