Power transformers are in operation in a large number in Romania and are the most important parts of the electric power system. This paper addresses issues related to the efficiency and the diagnosis of transformers which are in operation. The motivation is the fact that the power transformers are the most expensive elements of the power system. The research about reliability and efficiency will always...
The paper proposes a study of synchronization capability of line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor with small saliency ratio and very high cage resistance. The exemplified method is for a motor with the rated power of 3.5 kW, the synchronous speed of 3000 rpm, and the saliency ratio of 1.08.
Magnetic gears offer significant advantages over traditional mechanical gears, such as the ability to increase as well as decrease the input speed, contactless power transfer, high gear ratios, oil free operation, inherent overload protection, high torque density, potential for high efficiency and little or no maintenance. This paper presents an overview of high-performance magnetic gears.
The interest in permanent magnet synchronous motors is present in a wide area of applications, ranging from high-performance servo drives to line-start applications, such as fans and pumps. The are mainly two reasons for this trend: first low rotor losses and second the falling prices of high-energy magnets In this paper, techniques for developing LSPM motors with nearly unity power factor are investigated
