We report the generation of 28 W of 780 nm radiation with near diffraction limited beam quality (M² ≤ 1.15) by frequency-doubling a continuous-wave erbium fiber master oscillator power amplifier system in a periodically poled lithium niobate crystal. Stable Gain-Guided Soliton Propagation in a Polarized Yb-Doped Mode-Locked Fiber Laser

We demonstrate gain-guided dissipative soliton operation of a linearly polarized Yb-doped fiber laser, mode-locked by carbon nanotubes. In the regime of low nonlinear phase shift per cavity roundtrip, a dissipative soliton pulse can be supported by the finite gain bandwidth, without the need for strong spectral selection. The gain-guiding dynamics are confirmed by simulations.

We demonstrate passive mode-locking of a Raman fiber laser using a nanotube-based saturable absorber. The normal dispersion cavity generates highly-chirped 500 ps pulses that are compressed down to 2 ps, with 1.4 kW peak power.
