We report on frequency tripling of CW-Telecom laser diode using two cascaded PPLN ridge nonlinear crystals, both used in single-pass configuration. All optical components used for this development are fibered, leading to a very compact and easy to use optical setup. We have generated up to 290 mW optical power in the green range, from 800 mW only of infrared power around 1.54 µm. This result corresponds...
Small submucosal tumors (SMT) without symptoms are frequently found by endoscopic and radiological examinations. To find proper diagnostic measures and therapeutic indications for histologically undiagnosed SMT, we reviewed published articles in PubMed between 1990 and March 2013 using the key words ‘submucosal tumor’ and the name of a specific disease. SMT is observed in a wide range of gastrointestinal...
We report the experimental distribution of a time-bin entangled photon pair over 300 km of optical fiber, which is a record for long-distance quantum communication. The observed two-photon interference fringe exhibited a visibility of 84%.
We report a simple scheme to generate time-bin entangled photon pairs based on cascaded second-order nonlinear processes in a single periodically-poled lithium niobate waveguide. We successfully observed two-photon interference fringes up to 97% visibilities.
We report a differential phase shift quantum key distribution experiment using up-conversion detectors. Though the detectors had polarization dependency, we were able to make the system polarization-independent by using polarization modulation.
In this paper, we demonstrate CH4 detection in ambient air by the simple wavelength scanning of a DFG output using a direct-bonded PPLN ridge WG. The spectroscopic resolution has been improved by employing pump LD oscillation mode stabilization with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The trace CH4 gas concentration in ambient air is 1.78 ppm, therefore, we adopt a multi-pass cell with a path length of 107...
