We present an error-correction performance improvement of a triple-concatenated FEC by a UEP-BCH product code for OTU4V frame format. A simulation indicates an NCG of 11.0dB with 20.5% redundancy at a post-FEC BER of 10−15.
We propose a new low-PAPR 16-QAM modulation using a non-zero crossing mapping for NG-PON. With this 16-QAM signal and SOA booster, a high loss budget of 29.4 dB at 20 Gb/s, which is higher by 0.9 dB than that of the normal mapping, was achieved.
This paper presents and evaluates the architecture of subcarrier multiple access PON systems applying remote inter-carrier synchronization scheme over the ONUs to realize efficient batch processed subcarrier demodulation at the OLT on PON uplinks.
We present new IFDMA-based PON systems employing a low power SRAM-based DSP circuits for over 10 Gb/s-capable PON. Its power reduction effect of more than 93 % compared to FFT/IFFT-based OFDMA-PON systems was demonstrated in real circuits on FPGA.
Our Terabit LAN challenges are to enhance the scalability and utilization of lambda resources. Bandwidth-on-demand virtualized 100GE access to WDM networks on a field fiber test-bed using multi-domain optical-path provisioning is described.
This paper reports an experiment over in-field fibers applying GMPLS (Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching)-based control for automatic discovery of chromatic dispersion and wavelength path establishment with tunable dispersion compensation. Two wavelength paths were successfully established with error-free data transmission.
We propose and demonstrate a cost-effective optical switch realized by a combination of flexible polymeric waveguides and mechanical actuators based on internal total reflection at cross-points in the polymeric waveguides.
