This article proposes two empirical models for IEEE 802.11g/n networks which aim to predict the quality loss on a video stream, based on a relationship between the proposed metric and the received power level in dBm. For such a purpose, PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) is used for deriving PSNR Loss, which is used as a metric. It is also proposed an adjustment in ITU-R P.1238-2 used for indoor propagation...
This paper presents a propagation model for prediction of path loss and performance parameters (throughput and frame loss) on OFDM-based networks. For this study, measurements on a 5.8 GHz Wimax network were carried out. The proposed model parameters have been adjusted by LS (Least Squares) optimization, using measured data as reference. The results show that the proposed model has a good agreement...
This paper presents a design of an alternative Drive-Test setup aiming to carry out measurements in broadband wireless networks. Geo-referenced data can be extracted by using SNMP-based equipments and a GPS serial connection. After a trial measurement it can be seen that the proposed drive-test setup can successfully perform a geo-referenced measurement on SNMP compliant equipments.
This paper presents a performance comparison between COST231-Hata and SUI Models through LMS tuning Algorithm for 5.8 GHz frequency band. The studied environment is based on the cities located in Amazon Region. After the adjustments and the simulations, SUI Model has shown a smaller RMS error when compared with COST231-Hata Model.
