This paper reports on the current ultra-low noise V-band down-converter development carried out by Airbus DS SAS for MetOp-SG mission. These equipment will be flying onboard MicroWave Sounder (MWS) and the MicroWave imager (MWI).
This paper presents and proposes an Advanced Ice Cloud Imager, a low earth orbit radiometer insuring a polarimetric imagery of the Earth atmosphere from millimeter waves up to nearly one THz. It is focused on the characterization of ice clouds, convection and snowfall. It will extend the capabilities of the Ice Cloud Imager (ICI) thanks to enhanced polarimetry by: Measuring both orthogonal polarizations...
This paper presents an advanced multi-frequency radiometer fro the GPM Br Fr mission. This mission will increase the capability of the Megha-Tropiques mission. In addition to the MADRAS channels, this radiometer includes the 183 GHz H2O line and some sub-millimeter wave channels for ice cloud characterization (from 243 GHz up to 664 GHz).
In this study, results of long-term stability of an Active Cold Load (ACL), realized at L-band with an SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistor are reported. The ACL exhibits return loss higher than 35 dB and a noise temperature less than 66 K. A noise injection radiometer has been developed to perform the measurements. A noise-equivalent delta temperature of less than 31 mK and a stability estimated...
