This paper presents an improved low power heater cathode assembly structure for space-TWT. Several factors were involved in power efficiency of heater cathode assembly, such as heat shield thickness, structure. Experimental result shows Heater power can decrease to 2.5W when cathode temperature is 950°C Simulation using ANSYS software on these change in heater cathode assembly was achieved.
