Hepatitis C virus infection remains a public health problem within an international scope, and much efforts has been devoted to understanding the interaction within HCV and human protein complex. Among several attempts, identification of binding site and prediction of critical residue contribute significantly to the function of a protein, and can narrow the search space required by docking algorithms...
In this study, we investigated a number of data analysis methods to discover useful genomic data for predicting protein function. Such methods is data mining prediction (DMP). DMP is based on a combination of evidence from the attributes of amino acid, its predicted structure, and its phylogenic patterns. DMP is, to the best of our knowledge, the first non-SIM based prediction method to have been...
This paper presents a new multiple model adaptive controller for blood pressure control using sodium nitroprusside. The controller contains an overcontrol compensation factor, which can prevent large undershoot and pressure reduction rate. Computer simulations show that the controller can result in a good control of blood pressure despite the uncertainty in the plant parameters.
This paper diecribes a reading aid system being developed for the blind to access to chinese books. This system consists of two parts. The one produces a “disc-book” which carries the information of a chinese book in the form of braille codes. The other is a remote reading machine which can read the braille codes stored in the “disc-book” and present them to blind readers on a tactile braille display...
