Recent widespread use of multimedia-enabled devices has prompted the industry to look at systems which can provide a distributed, synchronized content consumption experience. Motorola has partnered with Purdue University's eStadium project to create the Rich Immersive Sports Experience (RISE) project. RISE is an attempt to design and develop such a system geared toward use in suites in Purdue's Ross-Ade...
Estimation of road profile parameters and detection of road pavement failures using in-vehicle sensors such as vertical accelerometers or position sensors is of immense value in a futuristic distributed highway monitoring system. In this paper, a novel road elevation profile model, well suited for analysis using statistical signal processing tools, is developed to characterize road features. We then...
This paper presents methods for the identification of noncausal two-dimensional rational systems from impulse response or output covariance data. Consideration of the general class of noncausal systems is motivated by the need for noncausal models in two-dimensional power spectrum estimation. The identification methods studied here rely on a recently proposed notion of system state for noncausal systems.
