We report the results of a field trial carrying 400-Gb/s real-time dual-carrier PDM-16QAM signals over a 550-km-long commercial system. After the examination of the propagation nonlinear noise statistics nature, we analyze the accuracy of a performance prediction model based on Gaussian nonlinear distortions on the lab replica of on-the-field conditions. Further on, we demonstrate the compatibility...
We review recent field trials employing real time 400Gb/s dual-carrier PDM-16 QAM channels. The results demonstrate their compliance not only with nowadays 50-GHz grid network but also with next generation flexgrid networks carrying super-channels.
We show that the tolerance to in-band crosstalk due to a slight misalignment of the filtering function can be relaxed. Such impairment may occur in case of WSS requiring accurate alignments of several optical elements
We report on the combined effects of control electronics and a SOA as to suppress packet to packet power fluctuations. Associated to a SOA-MZI based 3R regenerator, we demonstrate a power dynamic range of 9 dB.
Operation margins of SOA-MZI used in differential scheme are measured at 40Gbit/s for input signal wavelength and pulse width. When implemented in series in an Optical 3R Regenerator structure, compatibility with NRZ data and tolerance to input wavelength up 6 nm are demonstrated.
