Identification of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) has been significantly enhanced due to the rapid advancement in sequencing technologies. On the other hand, semantic annotation of ncRNA data lag behind their identification, and there is a great need to effectively integrate discovery from relevant communities. To this end, the Non-Coding RNA Ontology (NCRO) is being developed to provide a precisely defined...
Mean-shift tracking algorithm is a widely-used tool for efficiently tracking target. However, the background change and shade usually lead to tracking errors and low tracking accuracy. In this paper, we introduce a novel mean-shift tracking algorithm based on weighted sub-block which incorporates the improved level set target extraction. The weight of each sub-block is determined by the similarity...
Employing a novel polarization-resolved detection, we precisely measured the polarization of terahertz emission from ionized gases in two-color field composed of circular polarized fundamental beam and linear polarized second harmonic. It shows that the polarization of the THz emission rotates with the phase delay and forms an attoclock. The polarization angular deviations of THz emissions in different...
This paper investigates the influence of wires attached to an electrically large EUT on the estimates for the directivity. A rectangular slotted metallic enclosure was considered as an EUT. For different cable configurations the simulated current distribution and the maximum directivity Dmax were determined in the frequency range from 1GHz to 6GHz by a numerical simulation technique. The simulation...
The radiated emission testing of an electrically large equipment under test (EUT) has been carried out in a mode stirred chamber and a fully anechoic room. The radiation pattern of a rectangular metallic enclosure with a rectangular slot was measured, simulated and compared. The model of the EUT was then used for a statistical analysis of the expected value of the maximum directivity from 1GHz to...
We report the joint measurements of terahertz wave and high harmonic spectra generated from aligned nitrogen molecules. Our results show the yields of terahertz wave and high harmonics are sensitive to the alignment angle. This observation clarifies that electronic structure play an important role in the generation of terahertz and high harmonics from molecules.
We demonstrate an enhancement of terahertz wave generation from plasma produced by circularly polarized two-color fields when the laser intensity is high enough to saturately ionize the gas. Comparing to the linear two-color fields, the conversion efficiency of co-rotating circularly polarized two color-fields is about 40% higher.
This paper presents a channel-aware access scheme for Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) aiming to take advantage of multi-user diversity and improve throughput, while supporting distributed and asynchronous operation. By dynamically adjusting the contention window of each station (STA) according to its channel state, this method prioritizes STAs that gain most from using...
A negative voltage generator for the sample-and-hold (SH) circuit in charge-domain pipelined analog to digital converters (ADCs) based on brigade-bucket devices (BBDs) is presented in this paper. In the charge transfer phase of the BBD sample-and-hold circuit, a negative voltage is produced on the bottom plate of the sampling capacitor, which may result in serious problems that the resetting switches...
The charge-domain analog-to-digital converter (ADC) based on boosted bucket-brigade devices (BBD) is an opamp-less pipelined ADC architecture, which can provide high conversion speed with very low power consumption compared with traditional pipelined ADC architectures. However, the charge transfer characteristics of the MOS BBD exhibits severe nonlinearity, which poses a hard limit on the linearity...
In a dense WLAN deployment, the interfering wireless access points (APs) need to efficiently share the spectrum, and hence, avoid low-performance experience of users due to high collision rates and long backoff overheads. In this paper, we aim to propose a channel assignment scheme in which APs can self-configure their channel choices to mitigate interference and thereby maximize network throughput...
Silver-Copper-Palladium (Ag-Cu-Pd) brazing alloy is an important material used for vacuum electronic devices packaging for its low vapor pressure, good air tightness, excellent wetting property, and mechanical properties. The Ag-Cu-Pd brazing alloys are proposed for the vacuum electronic devices packaging in these few years. Ag-Cu-Pd alloy is one of the common mid-temperature and high-temperature...
Thermal-aware VLSI circuit design has become important for the advanced many-core and 3-D stacking architecture. Major bottlenecks in the design flow include the thermal modeling and analysis, which are both memory and time consuming. In this paper, we discuss the module based thermal modeling method, which divides the chip into modules and builds the thermal model by assembling the reduced module...

We demonstrate a dramatic enhancement of the below-threshold harmonics in the vicinity of atomic resonances. The dependence on the driving laser carrier-envelope phase suggests a nonperturbative mechanism. Phase matching promises scalability to microJoule pulse energies.
Isolated attosecond pulses are used to probe laser-perturbed hydrogen molecules using attosecond absorption spectroscopy. We observe dynamic features in the delay-dependent absorption on both the electronic and nuclear timescales for the first time.
The receptive field of neurons plays various roles in biological neural networks. In this paper a spiking neural network model is proposed using a mechanism inspired by the biological receptive field. The network is composed of multiple layers, and the neurons are connected by excitatory and inhibitory synapses. When a visual image presents to the network, location and radius of a circle on the visual...
In order to assess the communication software maintainability in a credible, simple and shortcut way, The fuzzy comprehensive assessment system based on BP neural network is used in this paper. By introducing the fuzzy matrix and BP neural network, the assessment conclusion is accurate when the model is trained. The model mainly consists four steps: the first one is to construct the index system of...
Though there exist a lot of cluster ensemble approaches, few of them consider how to deal with noisy datasets. In this paper, we design a new noise immunization based cluster ensemble framework named as AP2CE to tackle the challenges raised by noisy datasets. AP2CE not only takes advantage of the affinity propagation algorithm (AP) and the normalized cut algorithm (Ncut), but also possesses the characteristics...
This paper focuses on the sizing of cavity defect in metallic foam (MF) from DC potential drop (DCPD) signals with stochastic optimization methods. Reconstruction schemes and numerical examples for reconstruction of the major defect parameters from both simulated and measured DCPD signals are given for the genetic algorithm (GA), the simulated annealing (SA) method, and the tabu search (TS) method...
