A two-stage D-band differential cascode power amplifier is presented, integrated using the IHP 0.13 pm SiGe BiCMOS technology. A compact layout of the cascode stage is proposed to minimize the parasitics contributing to potential instability, achieving 13 dB of gain/stage while operating at 46% of fT, using stage peaking. The PA is analyzed using Booth chart techniques showing that the amplifier can...
A GaAs solid state passive coplanar waveguide (CPW) left-handed metamaterial medium is proposed and validated by measured results. The unit cell of the fabricated structures has a size of 0.09 mm2. The left handedness range of the solid state left-handed structure extends from 2.3 GHz to 17.5 GHz. The compactness and broad left-handed operating bandwidth make the presented left-handed metamaterial...
A fully integrated coplanar waveguide (CPW) left-handed (LH) metamaterials medium for RF/MMIC applications is proposed and demonstrated by measurements. LH metamaterials have the potential to miniaturise RF/MMIC circuits and in this paper, we present a novel, fully integrated LH transmission line (TL). The compactness of the proposed LH-TL is the key advantage in integrated RF/MMIC circuit applications.
