We report self-referenced temperature sensing with a high-Q Z-cut lithium niobate microdisk resonator, based on thermo-optic birefringence. We achieved a temperature sensitivity of 0.834 GHz/K and temperature sensing resolution of 0.8 mK.
We report, for the first time, high-quality LiNbO3 one-dimensional photonic crystal nanabeams with optical Q up to 1.09 × 105, which allows us to observe strong reversible photorefractive effect.
This talk reviews the progresses on cavity optomechanical sensing. A comparison of mass induced and optical spring based sensing approaches are presented. Future improvements that may enable the detection of single atoms are discussed.
This paper focuses on zero-crossing spike current issue in totem-pole bridgeless PFC converter. Spike current occurs at every input voltage zero-crossing and becomes a severe conducted common mode noise source. The zero-crossing issue is discussed by theoretical analysis and mathematical calculation, the conducted noise caused by zero-crossing issue can be predicted by calculating Fourier coefficient...
This paper describes an artificial neural network (ANN) method that employs a feature-learning algorithm to detect the lumen and MA borders in intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) images. Three types of imaging features including spatial, neighboring, and gradient features were used as the input features to the neural network, and then the different vascular layers were distinguished using two sparse autoencoders...
We demonstrate a regenerative optomechanical oscillator operating at a high frequency of 375 MHz on lithium-niobate-on-insulator platform based upon a compact high-Q lithium niobate microdisk resonator with an intrinsic optical Qo of 2.2×105 and intrinsic mechanical Qm above 5000 in the air.
We report the highest raw quantum interference visibility for time-energy entangled photon pairs from a micron scale source, to date. Bi-photons from a silicon microdisk resonator were observed to have a raw coincidence visibility of (96.6 ± 1.1)%.
We report a novel and convenient approach for dispersion engineering over multi-octave spectral range that is able to achieve peculiar oscillatory dispersion curves with five zero-dispersion wavelengths which have never been shown before.
We develop an on-chip telecom-band single-photon source with Klyshko efficiencies up to 48%, the highest value for cavity-enhanced photon sources. For the first time, we relate Klyshko efficiency to high-order correlations and verify this relation experimentally.
We report intriguing thermo-optic oscillation dynamics, for the first time in a high-Q LiNbO3 microresonator that results from combined effects of thermal refraction, thermal expansion, and photo-refraction.
We report a novel approach to dramatically suppress the fundamental temperature fluctuations and thermo-optic noises of a high-Q microresonators by orders of magnitudes, achieved remarkably via pure optical means without cooling the device temperature.
According to the mathematical model of a brushless DC motor, using MATLAB / Simulink to build various independent functional modules, and integrated into the simulation model of brushless DC motor control system. The system uses the double loop of control mode, including the inner current loop and the outer speed loop, to ensure that the motor is performance well in the high and low speed, and system...
It is well known that the eigen frequency (f) of a harmonic oscillator is determined by the oscillator effective mass (meff) and spring constant (keff) according to the Hook's law equation. An optical whispering gallery microcavity, when the wavelength of the injected light coincides the cavity resonance, establishes tremendous amount of light circulating along its equator. For an ultra-high quality...
The stability of blast furnace gas (BFG) system is of great importance in steel manufacturing process. This paper proposes a multi-objective hierarchical genetic method for building a fuzzy system to measure the pressure of BFG network in complex industrial environments. In order to improve the accuracy of the model, the fuzzy system is divided into four layers with the optimization target of mean...
Totem-pole bridgeless PFC converter is proposed to pursuit better efficiency as it reduces the loss added by the diode bridge. However, the conducted noise performance of totem-pole bridgeless PFC converter is unsatisfactory as the spike current occurs at input voltage zero-crossing and causes severe common mode noise. In this paper, the noise mechanism at zero-crossing of the converter is discussed...
For the first time, we present a detailed analysis of the noise characteristics in micro-/nano-optomechanical resonators for inertial sensing including optomechanical-based accelerometers and gyroscopes, which provides useful guidance for developing high performance chip-scale integrated optomechanical inertial sensors in the future.
In this paper, an energy efficient real time task scheduling algorithm for wireless networked control system named EDP is proposed. EDP is designed aiming at improving and optimizing network task priority. Therefore, when the system is configured with limited time and energy, EDP is able to schedule well. Compared with EDF, EDP enhances the performances of scheduling in terms of schedulability, energy...
The common mode (CM) noise mechanism of totem-pole bridgeless PFC converter is analyzed in this paper. The conducted noise performance of a bridgeless totem-pole PFC converter using GaN HEMTs is investigated under experimental conditions: 230V ac input, 390V dc output, and 50kHz switching frequency. The CM noise located around the input voltage zero-crossing of the converter is noticed to be significant...
We observed pulsations of Raman lasing on an optomechanically oscillating silica microsphere. The harmonic tones from the oscillation regeneratively produce 223.5-ns-width Raman laser pulses above a pump threshold of 186 μW.
We propose to produce five-partite entanglement via cascaded four-wave mixing in a high-Q microresonator that may become a key to future one-way quantum computation on chip.
