We generate offset-free gigahertz frequency combs tunable from 2.75 to 3.8 μm by using PPLN waveguides for 30-dB-amplification of a supercontinuum generated in a Si3N4 waveguide by the same Yb:CALGO-laser that pumps the OPA process.
We present the first carrier-envelope-offset (CEO) frequency detection based on multi-octave-spanning supercontinuum generation in a CMOS-compatible Si3N4 waveguide. Strong CEO-beat-signals (>30 dB) of a gigahertz-Yb:CALGO-laser were obtained with only 36 pJ of coupled pulse energy.
We demonstrate single-shot characterization of an ultrafast, high-repetition-rate pulse source using an asynchronously-pumped, time-lens-based temporal magnifier. Additionally, we show frequency compression that can be used for real-time high-speed RF spectral characterization.
Present generation AUVs act as mobile sensor platforms, allowing post mission debriefs which require little more than an adequate expression of the collected data, and only basic requirements for mission planning. As the need and capability advances, autonomy will increase in turn, leading to more complex missions, which must be supported by more capable operator interfaces, both for post mission...
It is evident when the resilience of a system has been exceeded and the system qualitatively changed. However, it is not clear how to measure resilience in a system prior to the demonstration that the capacity for resilient response has been exceeded. We argue that self-organizing human and natural systems are structured by a relatively small set of processes operating across scales in time and space...
We surveyed vegetation at 100 sites in southern New Mexico to establish a benchmark for monitoring vegetation change. Sites were selected in a stratified random design, based on a classified AVHRR image. Two shrubs (Larrea tridentata and Prosopis glandulosa) are the most important contributors to perennial cover in the area. Principal components analysis (PCA) and detrended correspondence analysis...
