This article presents results obtained by further developing the concept that the limiting stage of the process of detergent action is the adsorption of surfactants on the surface being cleaned and on particles contaminating the surface. The process of adsorption is examined for the case when the adsorption rate is comparable to or greater than the rate of transport (diffusion) of molecules of the...
Differential equations are derived and solved to describe the adsorption of surface-active substances (surfactants) by the Langmuir mechanism in a detergent system. Analytic expressions are found to obtain the adsorption isotherm and adsorption rate for variable and constant surfactant concentrations in the bulk phase.
