We present a landslide monitoring application using a high-resolution distributed fiber optic stress sensor. The sensor is used to monitor the intra-stress distribution and variations in landslide bodies, and can be used for the early warning of the occurrence of the landslides. The principle of distributed fiber optic stress sensing and the intra-stress monitoring method for landslides were described...
We report the design of benzocyclobutene microring resonator of symmetric coupling made of a readily available polymer with a higher isolation of 43.8 dB, a finesse of 34, and a Q value of 1.5×105. The FDTD method predicts a drop efficiency of almost 80% for a gap of 0.55 μm.
Based on the Stokes signals of the spontaneous Raman backscattering, a demodulated method for the simultaneous distributed temperature measurement in an optical fiber is presented to improve the sensitivity of the sensor. The experimental system of Stokes temperature sensor is set up and 2 km of operating length, 1 m of distance resolution, accuracy of ±0.1°C are obtained.
