This paper considers the issue how to obtain the amplification of stimulated emission in the cell with sodium vapor using a longitudinally pumped dye laser arrangement at a line shorter than the transitions from the ground state to the levels D1 and D2. The broadening of the emission wavelength is calculated.
In this paper, the experimental studies of copper bromide vapor brightness amplifiers operating at high pulse repetition frequencies are presented. The obtained results show that the injection of active hydrogen-containing additives allows to increase the radiation (gain) pulse repetition frequency in active elements with a diameter of the active zone larger than 1 cm.
Methods for changing CuBr vapor laser operating parameters by varying discharge circuit parameters of a power supply were observed. Various options of matching the power supply and the active element were tested to obtain a steady amplifying state with an atypical duration of pulse radiation. Use of the matching autotransformer made it possible to increase the power of generation two-fold and to stabilize...
Actual methods of the long lasing pulse obtaining in CuBr active medium was observed. A compact pump source, which can be used in mode with low energy input in the discherge was developed. The source is stable working in low frequencies (2–3 kHz) and allows to achieve a pulse duration up to 100 ns. Moreover, this source allows to operate with the pulse repetition frequency of up to 50 kHz. Developed...
This article discusses the feasibility of using laser diodes as external illumination sources, with subsequent light amplification in the lead vapor brightness amplifier, as a typical representative of metal vapor lasers. The results show that ordinary laser diodes cannot be used as illumination sources. In order to exceed the self noise energy of the brightness amplifier it is essential to use either...
In this paper the results of investigation of copper bromide vapor laser with pulse duration up to 320ns are presented. For pulse extension, the system of limitation of discharge current, based on a composite switch consisting of a thyratron and a tacitron connected in series, was used. This method allows to limit the excitation of lasing transitions in the initial stage of the discharge, thereby...
This paper presents the study of the energy characteristics of a medium scale CuBr laser (1130 active volume) pumped by a longitudinal capacitive discharge. The output power dependences on the equivalent operating capacitance and on the ratio of high-voltage and ground electrode capacitances are studied. The best characteristics are obtained when the high-voltage electrode capacitance...
The paper discusses the use of a CuBr-laser active medium for visualization of high speed-processes obscured by background light. The methods of laser illumination and laser monitor are suggested.
The paper presents state of the art for laser projection microscopes and their application for monitoring objects and processes hidden from view of an observer by a layer of bright luminous plasma. We show the possibility of registration of an image, which is obtained using laser projection microscope and is formed by a single pulse of the optical amplifier. Laser monitor based on CuBr-laser with...
