The application of Directive 2008/98/CE on Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) implies the need to introduce technologies to generate energy from waste. Incineration, the most widely used method, is difficult to implement in low populated areas because it requires a large amount of waste to be viable (100,000 tons per year). This paper analyses the economic and environmental costs of different MSW-to-Energy...
This paper presents new antenna topologies for 5G communication systems. The objective is the study of low losses distribution network technologies and the radiating elements for low profile antennas for 5G applications. Different technologies are considered as PCB technology, LTCC technology and metallized 3D printing in terms of design procedures, transmission losses and manufacturing processes...
The design process and simulation of a phased array antenna for a coastal surveillance radar application in X band (8.8–9.6 GHz) is presented. A printed folded dipole is chosen as radiating element due to its feasible behaviour and fabrication facilities. The designed array consists of 5 rows of 144 elements each one, achieving a total dimensions of 260 cm width and 11.5 cm heigth.
A design procedure of Ridge Gap Waveguide technology is proposed. The simulated results for Ka-band and above are compared with other technologies like Substrate Integrated Waveguide, microstrip or classical waveguide in terms of transmission losses.
Best efforts have been made in order to assure that the structure works in a proper way. For this reason, in this paper some software simulations and prototype measurement and evaluation was performed. This work demonstrates the feasibility of applying the AMC-PEC-AMC configuration in parallel plate waveguides to enhance the properties of the wave propagation. In the case of using several AMC-PEC-AMC...
