Narrow-band phased-array transmitters provide an efficient way of obtaining higher power through spatial combining and achieving higher transmitter EIRP. They also provide beamforming and beam-steering capabilities [1]. However, the commonly used phase shifter or LO phase-shifting techniques at RF become less attractive for 3-to-5GHz UWB due to their lossy, bulky and narrowband characteristics. On...
An all-digital CMOS ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse generator with 3-5GHz frequency range is presented in this paper. The pulse generator is tunable in both amplitude and bandwidth to meet the FCC spectral mask requirement. The circuit is implemented in 0.13 μm CMOS process with a core area of 0.024 mm2 and achieving an energy efficiency of 2.5 pJ/pulse at 200M pulse/s.
An implantable EEG recording IC including 32 analog low noise amplifiers, band-pass filters, adjustable gain stages, and a 10 b SAR ADC is presented. The chip, implemented in 0.35 μm CMOS process, achieves 1.15 μVrms total noise in a 0.5-to-150 Hz band and consumes 22 μW from a 1 V supply, attaining a noise efficiency factor of 2.24.
